I need to put new fluid in my old transmission just so i can move it around (in case you didn't know the transmission's shot) but it works long enough to move it a few feet. can i just fill it through the large dipstick tube up front under the hood? Can I poor it all in at once or does it need to be started and stopped?

Dipstick tube is the place; you'll need a funnel of course. The fluid will drop directly into the pan, so as long as you're not overfilling it, you can pour it in as fast as you want.
