correct, if you get a tune on a dyno they all use some sort of wideband o2. whether it be a sniffer wideband, or if they put a direct one in your o2 bung. either way theyre both very very accurate. essentially, once tuned safely you should be ok without one.
however, i would go ahead and get one anyways. my first ka-t i never ran one. i street tuned it with an safc, and a borrowed wideband. once it was all tuned to my satisfactory, i took the wideband out and gave it back to my friend. the car is still running to this day on a motor that i built from the ground up (all new internals). this was done 4-5 years ago. the guy who bought the car flew from texas, and drove it there non stop from here in orlando, fl (LOL without a tag mind you that, and never got stopped).
my last ka-t i bought a aem uego, and had it permanently mounted. main reason is because i was a FMU on stock motor. that car is still up until about a month ago when it was stolen and stripped ( this car was running awesome for exactly one year).
get one as soon as possible though. piece of mind. gl with your dyno day.
