I had my mechanic do the swap for me, so I have NO clue what they have done, but I cannot get the key out of my ignition. I did some searching and found the trick to pry out the little black ring around the keyhole and look for a tiny red switch, but I need a more permanent solution.
I took apart my center console and looked for the wires that used to go to the shifter to tell the car it is in park. Those wires are not even there anymore. So, I went under the hood and looked for the wires that need to be spliced, but couldn't find them.
I have a picture of the fuse box next to the battery where the wires apparently are, but I cannot for the life of me figure out which wires to use. One tip I had was "the center plug only has 2 wires going to it" and another said "the black and white wire, which are a heavier gauge than the rest". Ok well, I checked for both of these things and could not find ANY plugs with only 2 wires. The ONLY plug that has a black wire and a white wire is not IN the fuse box but snapped on to the side of it, and that one has TWO black wires and one white. I am afraid if I go with instincts or guessing or whatever that I'll end up wrecking something.
So should I keep trying for the wires, or should I try to find a way to wedge that little red switch into place? Can anyone help me find the proper wires? (A nice close-up pic with the exact wires circled would be EFFIN SWEET!)
