I own a 2011 G37 Vert and recently took it in for the 7,500 mi service (actual mi. 3,100. I purchased my car in August 2011. I have been experiencing some of the AT problems outlined in Service Bulletins ITB10-075a and lTB12-027. I brought the Service Bulletins with me (also brought the SB for Bluetooth Phone Quality) and explained the issues I was experiencing. When I picked up my car, they fixed the phone issue but they said my car did not need the AT update. Supposedly my car is already "updated". Although I have been very happy with this dealer, I still question their assessment regarding the AT. Is there anyway I can confirm that I do/do not need the update? :wtf2: Thanks.

For ITB10-075a they probably just looked at your VIN and if your VIN is appropriate then looked for the DTC's or the other mentioned lists for confirmation (tho usually they don't feel the issues). Is your car VIN within those listed in the TSB?

I don't have lTB12-027

Thanks for your reply Audtatious. I am going to check my Vin # today. Somewhat of a rookie here...what is a DTC exactly. Thanks again. I really appreciate how you always reply to my and other's posts.

DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Effectively they are the codes stored when a check condition is found. SES/check engine light is usually triggered but not always.

I don't have lTB12-027
There are 3 "versions" of ITB12-027. The original ITB12-027 was issued in May, 2012 and covered 2010 and 2011 coupes and sedans only. ITB12-027a was released June 19, 2012 and included 2009 coupes and sedans but not convertibles. ITB12-027b was just issued and now includes 2009-2011 convertibles. From my research, most everyone who had the 027 reprogramming have noticed a significant improvement in the A/T performance and response. Also, those who had the 075a reprogramming first have experienced an improvement. I am planning on taking my car to the dealer in a couple of weeks for installation of a couple of mods and I will have the reprogramming done then since my car is now covered in 027b and I have experienced all of the issues described in the TSB.

Here is a brief description of ITB12-027/a/b:

2009 - 2011 G37; SHIFT RESPONSIVENESS ISSUES
APPLIED VEHICLES: 2009 – 2011 G37 Sedan, Coupe and Convertible
APPLIED ENGINE: VQ37VHR
APPLIED TRANSMISSION: 7 speed

IF YOU CONFIRM one or more of the following conditions:

• Harsher than expected down shifts when coasting to a stop.
• Hesitation/lag when accelerating after coasting.
• Hesitation/lag or harsher than expected down shifts when coming to a stop and accelerating again (rolling stop).
• Engine rev matching during moderate to heavy braking.

NOTE: Engine rev matching is normal operation of the ASC (Adaptive Shift Control) in normal drive mode and sport mode. The ECM and TCM reprogramming in this bulletin will remove engine rev matching from ASC in normal drive mode, but it will remain as part of the ASC in sport mode.

This procedure will require reprogramming of the ECM and TCM; which means most steps in this procedure will need to be done twice.

Most instructions for reprogramming with CONSULT-III plus (C-III plus) are displayed on the CONSULT PC screen.

I had my 2011 G37 updated with the service bulletin ITB12-027d in April 2013. My car ran good for a while, now it's starting the hesitation again. Any experiencing this same problem?

Do a ECU reset and see if it goes back to normal again.
