Hi folks, I'm new here so go easy on me! Ok so I've searched and hunted and can't find any resolutions to the AT gearbox not changing past 2nd issue.

Ecu lights are clear, AT codes clear too, have replaced the tps the Ecu the ACU the transistor in the fender, new fluid, no metal particles in the old oil and pan, runnin out of things to do, car pulls hard and changes smooth, will change to 2nd in D and top out at 85mph. Any ideas? I've been flat out on 300zxclub but they arnt really interested :(

Thanks

Kyle

It's the original trans as far as I know, just checked tps all is fine, I bought 2 300zx tt At's from a guy quite a while ago, one was idling real bad, (this car in question) and the other sucked water up and bent no6 Conrod, it's still complete but I've been swapping parts, sorted the idle out with a new mad and the current car is running really well except this drive change problem. Thanks for the reply

You said there's no debris in the oil or oil pan, but have you checked the filter? It isn't uncommon for them to become clogged, especially after so many years. A clogged filter can cause all kinds of shifting problems including power loss and burning up the trans (really clogged). You can get a new filter or try to clean the old one out. I would suggest taking it out and see how bad it looks and go from there.

Not a bad idea, I'm on it, I'll swap the pressure sensor too because that's faulty on the car, I'll be back soon!!!
