Ok I'm doing the 5 speed swap in my 95 Zenki and I need some serious help, I have everything I need and the trans will be dropped today, but I am swithing out the AT ECU for the MT ECU and I need to know how to wire it up. I have printed out the instructions from KAdevelopment that nightkids has linked in his write (very nice btw it's helping me out alot) but the link on how to change out the ECM is not functional. does anyone know what needs to bedone/changed when swapping out the ECM's? I need this answered ASAP if there is a functional link for me to use and print out please submit it.

BTW I am also swapping out my KA block for a lower mileage one, let me just say that this whole job is a major PITA, the passenger side of the block is a wiring mess and some of the bolts are just downright impossible...

Yeah, the nightmare on the intake side of the block is bad. I played with a 98 DOHC that I ended up throwing away. Long live my MSEFI SOHC!

I have a friend that's getting ready to do the same swap with his 95. From what I was hearing from here the ECU should be fine. Actually, I've heard if you keep the AT ECU you remove the speed limiter. (If this isn't the case someone please correct me so I can straighten out my friend) I think there's one sensor the AT has that the MT doesn't and from what I was told it doens't affect the ECU. Again, this is all just what I heard from a friend. I would also like to hear the facts on this, I know there's a MT -> AT swap guide out there for the 240sx but I lost the link and can't find it again =/ Will post again if I find it.

I just checked the link for the ecu wiring from JWT and it's working, but this doesn't apply to you. That wiring is for substituting a 95 ecu in a 97-98 vehicle. As far as I know, yours should be a direct swap, no repinning needed.

ok..... dont waste money on a 5spd ECU. Auto ecu works exactly the same but it doesnt have a speed limiter

It also throws about 10 codes, F that. I'm swapin over to a 5 spd ecu as soon as I have the chance.

The ECU is plug and play. You just have to splice in another wire to the neutral position switch into one of the wires coming out of the ECU, jumper the starter control, and wire in the reverse lights. the 5 speed ECU will plug right in. When I had my auto ecu in for about a week a had an assload of CEL

Oh yeah, and nightkids is someone else who wrecked his 240 outrunning the cops- I am not him lol. Good to know it's helping you.
