Can someone explain how to run the transmission diagnostic for 1996 Q?

be sure that when you do this the trans is warmed up, otherwise it wont work!

Thanks for the help. I ran the diagnostic and returned "ok"

I have had OBDII code thrown "gear 3 ratio incorrect" twice since having the fluid changed and pan drop done several months ago.

I have a factory reman transmission and external cooler with about 35,000 miles on it.

Does anyone know if "death is imminent" or what should be done?

Does anyone know if this method would work with a 91Q?

I changed the fluid & cleaned the filter and ever since, I have no reverse, and the car will drive in neutral. I'm completly dumb founded.

same method for all G50.. I would worry about the code, 96Q45.

BP, did you do it yourself? I wonder if they messed something up, either by fiddling with the linkage..
