Anyone here take the asvab? If you have, what were your scores like? If you don't want to say it's cool. I was just curious as how people scored as I'm about to take mine shortly.

I took it 4 years ago and scored in the 99th percentile overall. Funny thing is I think my weakest section was the mechanics sections.... if only I knew then what I know now.

The test doesn't matter though, so don't worry about it. The Navy will just start sending you flyers all the time and there's some army recruiter that calls me every 2 years :rolleyes

My recruiter said I missed 3 questions off of the entire test.

I'll have to check for my exact scores, percentiles aren't very accurate. I'm 99 as well, since there is no 100 percentile ASVAB score.

My older sister took it in highschool. She got a pretty high score was recruited by the Air Force and the Army heavily. Not sure about her score, but she was sick with the flu, passed the test in early. The next day she was taken to the hospital because she was dehydrated. I am sure the graders of the test laughed at my answers.

beats me, I missed all of one question on the practice thing the recruiters give you though...

They kept calling for like 2 years...probably shoulda just went though I'd either be dead or killing people right now (being I wanted USMC infantry or recon when I was in high school...)

I scored in the 99th nationally, then took the OQT and scored in the 99th nationally on that as well (very hard to do). Needless to say, I was recruited quite heavily, basically promised any job and any station I wanted. I would have chosen OSI in HI (of course).

Failed the physical (neglected to mention I am 20/-600 without correction) and they sent me home. :(

I was pissed, it's not like I'd be slogging thru the mud with a rifle or piloting an F18. That's a stupid requirement, and apparently it had more to do with my "failure to disclose" than my actual eyesight.

yeah, I think I was supposed to, but I can't remember what the hell I made on it...

most schools require some sort of "exit" exam being either the ACT or the ASVAB.

when i took it 6 years ago i scored an official GT of 124 with my lowest score of 108 in admin...big whoop on that one. for my MOS at the time was min of 110 GT to get in.

Needless to say, i was offered my choice of jobs. got a good one and have been at it ever since.

i do think it's designed at about a 10th grade level, seemed rather odd scoring system too. i know i'm not smart (a smart *** yes) but i think a lot of it revolves around common sense and basic knowledge.
