Here's my scenario.

I have a 89 240 with 140K on a well cared for tight 24EOnly problems is leaky injectors that need replacing.

My goal for the car is 8psi on stock internals.

I will be doing one section at a time until I'm ready to bolt the turbo on.-------------------------------------------

I need to fix the injector leak first so I will replace them with 370's.

Question 1.

which are the cheapest 370's and how do I get them to work with the stock setup? should i just buy the 370's along with a SAFC-II and tune them down until the turbo install?-------------------------------------------

I'll also be installing a FMIC, since I don't have the turbo installed I want to mount the intercooler, mock-up the cold pipe, plumb the hot pipe up into the engine compartment and cap it off, once the cold pipe is done I'll cap it also.

Question 2.

I know I need to relocate the battery to the trunk so what is the easiest way to accomplish this?

I see nobody makes a FMIC kit for the S13 with a 24E so should I buy a universal of ebay and then get piping from who?---------------------------------------------

I'll have alot more questions but these will get me started.

Josh

You don't need to relocate to the trunk, you can use an odyssey battery. I bought a relocation kit from...I forgot but check our sponsors. You can use SR 370cc injectors.

why would you mount an intercooler with no turbo, this promotes theft of your car, honda ricers will want to drag race you at every stop light, and if you crash you just ruined your fmic and you never got to use it.

I suggest saving up and buying everything at once, **** can happen, if you buy one part at a time you might crash the car and have all these parts and no car, and no money for a new car. Just save your money and buy it all at once.

I don't have to worry about theft nor do I care about ricers.

The reason for mounting the intercooler I can do the 370's SAFC one weekend, intercooler setup over 2-3 weekends, oil pan fitting, turbo mockup one weekend and then a 3 day weekend for final assembly and tuning.

I like to take things in chunks as I live in a apartment and this is my daily driver.

about crashing my car, this is not even a thought in the back of my mind, I have yet to even scratch a car and I've owned/raced many.

SR injectors and safcII just to be safe.

Buy an intercooler core you like and that fits in the s13 front bumber w/o having to cut the core support. Check import auto performance, i dont know if that one fits the 24e but no batt relocation neccesary. If it doesnt fit then buy a cor of your choice and you will prolly have to fabricate some brackets for it. Mount it and go buy yourself some pvc pipe (2in OD)and some assorted angles. use this to make templates for the pipes you will need, this will save u some money at the fabricator shop becuase they dont need to to any R&D, they just need to weld and bend. Do all of the work at once. it can be done in a weekend if you dedicate your time. Good luck.~Sam

Thanks Sam.

I work for a Aluminum boat manufacturer so the Fab/Welding part will be a breeze.

I like the idea to use PVC for mockup.

I can do a mockup one weekend and then fabricate during the week and assemble the next.

Does anyone know of a full width core that fits in the S13 with A/C?

This is my IAP intercooler with a light coat of black spray paint. From the IAP website "Front Mount Intercooler-custom made to fit in the factory bumper area. Core measures 18.5" wide X 8.5" tall X 3.5" thick. Overall dimensions are 28" wide X 6.5" tall X 3.5" thick" You dont have to spend $900 on this kit but it does fit very nicely in the s13 bumper area and the bracket work was only a little involved.
