Asmar's "JDM" Front Brake Light Install

Just installed a "JDM" front brake light on my S13.





Got the idea from one of Keiichi Tsuchiya's drift videos.



Never seen this done before... What do you guys think?

Can't quite tell in the pic, but if it's red, it's definitely illegal. Having a red light on the front of your car can actually be considered impersonating a police officer (I looked this up because I was considering red blinkers in the front). If you happened upon a cop who wanted to screw you, you'd be screwed. So I would definitely change it to amber color if it's red.

From my understanding they put those on their cars specifically for those drift videos. Like in Drift Bible, to show when the brakes were applied for tutorial purposes. +1 on red and blue lights, impersonating a police vehicle.. unique though

I've always thought they were neat... However, they're illegal, and pointless. You're not allowed to have any red lights facing forward on a car.

A rear fog light would be cooler.

I think it's pretty cool. It may not be practical for street driving but when you are drifting at local meets/competitions, you can get advice of when your putting your brakes on and correct some driving habits. I would probably put a toggle switch on it tho to turn it on and off during meets

Looks cool and clean, but in Drift Bible, the light was for demo perposes. good job though man. hope you don't get pulled.

I'd make a cover for it so it isn't red. but its got nice placement. Like someone said^^ good for getting advice during an autoX or something.
