ok so here is my situation, i finally got a 240 after wanting one for about 6 years. its a 92 s13 hb 5 speed with a ka24de. its also pretty much stock, the upgrades include: custom bent exhaust, act 4 puck stage 3 clutch, nismo fuel pressure regulator, konig 16" ultra racing wheels, racing steering wheel, dc sports steel series strut bar(front), and an injen cold air intake. what i want feed back for is what you guys think i should do next. im on a tight budget and im not looking to make a super car right away. the car has almost 200,000 miles on it and zero rust. the motor i think might have been rebuilt because i changed my oil two weeks ago and its not black at all so i dont think blow by or leak down is occurring, i also have good compression in all cylinders. i have a ticking sound coming from under the valve cover that i think is because i need new shims. i wanna do a cam swap and i read about it in the other thread but im still not sure what to go with because of the rpm band i run mine in. i usually keep it between 2800-3000 and shift around 5500-6000. so my first question is what cams would be best for that range? my second question is what else could i do to improve performance along with the cam swap with out breaking the bank? thank you to everyone who responds in advance.

EDIT: i forgot i also have eiboch sportline springs.

if your going to keep it easy and simple...might i sugest say a Brian Crower stage 1 or 2 cam swapp...this will let ya breath a little better and might add to that custom bent system your pushin gasses out of...and if you feel the need for higher reves..might i allso sugest duel springs and retainers..just to prevent valve float...other than that..there are only small things to squeeze power out of that motor with..change to a racing oil..like royal purple..you will see a minute gain...change the transmission fluid to say a redline medium shock gear oil..you will see a minute gain there..same with the diff oil..depending of ya have a VLSD or a LSD or just oem diff..you can change to lighter oils with less viscosity...

for throttle responce and the best bang for a low buck mod..i sugest a aluminum driveline..and a flywheel if ya can afford both..you will see a huge difference in responce with those mods and the clutch your runnin..good luck , with what ever you decide.

i have an open diff but im going to get the obx one since someone on this site tested it and said its been working fine. i would get one with a better name but i am on a budget and i guess i don't mind being the second guinea pig. as far as the cams go, are the bc cams better than any combo of stock 240 cams?

i run the 272's cams from BC..stage 3 as they advertise em....at idle..i sound like a blown out chevey..as my overlap at idle is large with the large valve lift...due to my hard mounts..i vibrate like no other..and i cant see out of my rear view mirror..you can really feel the high CR piston combo with these cams...when i put my foot into them...they start to do there job at around 3500rpm..and open up to amazing at 5000rpm for my build..i have the duel springs and bla bla's allso..they only draw back with my set up is you can hear the valves working ( im running a thin race oil)..actually..the bucket hitting the cams...if you ran a normal oil..you wouldent hear it so much....over all..i like the heads i turn when im at a stop light and take off...the car was a ride from hell..now its a head turner..anyways..what ever you decide man..i wish you luck with..you dont need alot of power to have fun..just the desire to..
