I know I posted this before, but I wanted it to be obvious.

What is everyones opinion on the following wheel/tire size on a Q45A

If the tires don't sound like a match, how about the wheels on different tire size? What would the best tire size be, do you think. Based on others choices it looks like a 255/40/18.. Agree/disagree?

I don't have any recommendation for the overall diameter (sidewall) because I don't know the diameter of a G50 stock size tire. However, the 245 and 255 width would look PERFECT on an 8.5" width rim. I have 245 and 275 go on both front and rear 9" width rims. I'd wish that I had 8.5" for the 245 and 9.5" for the 275.

OEM diameter is 26.1".

Ryan, 255/40/18 is (IMO) perfect for the Q. I have 245/40/18, and if they had HAD 255's in stock, I would have gotten them.

Good choice.

1. Another tire size possibiltity is 245/45-18.

2. The offset of 20mm (that I would interpret the "ET20" as) bothers me. This is low and may cause a fitment problem. Grant of TireRack (try the Tires, Wheels, forum here on NICO) may know more ...

Great, and thanks

I'll use and abuse the existing 265s and go with some 255s

I disagree with some of the assembled gentlemen.

While my rear tires (the 18's) are a bit wider than your (9.0 I think) in my expereince 255 is simply too wide.

The car follows ruts way too willingly in 255's its almost disconcerting .Also the 245/40-18's are a closer match to stock tire diameter.

I have 245/45/18's on my stock o4 Maxima wheels.

I haven't put a wheel caliper on them, but I *think* they're 8.0. They might be 8.5.

They're really tall compared to stock, like a little ov er 1/2" I believe, but fill the wells nicely & don't scrub.

Dicount tire Direct has a very good tire size calculator.

Check it out yourself, but the closest match looks like the 245/45/18. I didn't check load ratings so you should check. Hope that helps.

Sorry 255/40/18. My bad. Man! Your going to feel every bump. With the pot holes here in Jersey, I'd kill those rims.

I have 255/45/17 on the silver car. I like them, and am currently putting on 2 new rears.

I have had the 245/45/17, 235/45/17, and 225/50/17 on the car. All on 8" rims.

I like the 255 size the best. Softer ride than the 235 & 245, and better wet handling than the 225/50. They are alos 26.1", which is spot-on.

The Sumitomo HTR+ are good tires, but get noisy later in life. The NITTO NT455 are good looking, great in water, but get REAL noisy later in life, and have balancing problems. Jimmy is putting on Fusion tires, today. We will see what they do, over the next few months.

I was going with teh Kuhmo's, but they were not in stock.

The black car still has the 15" x 6.5" BBS wheels, wit 215/65/15 Yokohama's. That car is a LOT softer and a LOT quieter.
