BTW the pics of the pulleys shown by Trijicon are an example of what happens when you buy the ebay version of pulleys.

Also I don't think anyone is really coming down hard on Chad it's just I'm trying to stress out the fact that you can't be cheap when it comes to this type of mod. Would you buy cams from ebay??? I sure as hell wouldn't it's the same basic principle they're vital to the engine and if you can't afford the better more expensive versions of the product other than the ebay version then you have no business doing that mod. I'd rather see people leave the car stock rather than to buy cheap products for their cars. Do it right the first time. I'm also trying to put it across to you guys that this is good mod and I don't discourage anyone from doing it like Greg is but you need to do your research and ask first about the proper steps on how to do it right. If you wanna do this mod correctly Get the Alt and W/P from Unorthodox Racing but then get the ATI harmonic damper for the crank. That is the BEST way to do this. Do it right and be smart about it.

So by the time all is said and done... if I we're to take your advice on what to buy for this mod... how much would I be looking at? (roughly)

thanks for all of the support and opinions. that's what this place is all about.

i haven't noticed any decrease in A/C and i live in TX. the power steering is slightly tighter at low LOW rpms like when you're pulling out of a parking spot. so low, i only noticed it because i was specifically looking for it.

G-whiz - i ordered mine directly from Stillen (http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=U-RSCRK01&c=PE) and it cost me $182.58. $11 more for shipping to TX. you'll also have to get 2 new belts' too. the belts are $45 from Stillen but everythingg35.com has them for $30. i would have bought my pulley from everythingg35 but they only sell the whole set and it's considerably more expensive than just the crank pulley. you won't see much, if any, improvement by replacing the accessory pulleys so why pay the extra money.

i also spoke personally to the performance parts and service manager at my dealership. they've sold and installed many UR pulleys/sets and have seen no problems resulting from them. i asked him specically about bearings burning up, oil leaks, and crank/pulley breakage. NOTHING! the people that are having the problems are using cheap ones and/or installing them improperly.

TenTill4Z - i asked them about the dampener, too, and they said they kept the stock one in. what's the real benefit of changing it? i'm curious because my pulley will be arriving soon and i'd like to know if i should get the dampener, as well. i went to ATI's site. you have to call so i did and was put on hold for 10 minutes. WAH! how much was your dampener?

so, in conclusion, from my research the UR pulley/set gets a big all others -

i'll continue to keep you guys informed because i still feel that this is a safe, relatively inexpensive, and FUN performance mod.

thats weak, why go through all the trouble for 5hp, when you can run a 75 shot, and get alot more bang.

I AGREE WITH CHAD I had a UR pulley on my previous maxima and now I have the whole UR pulley set on my G35 sedan which has plenty of other power mods while still being N/A and I have never had a problem. Stop buying cheap s**t for your car. If you can't save up for the good stuff then you don't deserve to have a g35!!!

I'm glad to hear that it worked out for you. How much did it cost to have the pully installed or did you do it yourself?

at the dealership it was going to be about $200. i had a performance shop that my dad and i have been using for years put it on for me. it's just easier when you have a lift. the job bills for 1.5 hours but, of course, it only took them about 30-45 minutes. again, very easy (you can do it yourself) if you have a lift - i watched them. they charge me $85/hr so it came out to about $145. if you can get the front end high enough you can do it yourself.

you'll need 2 new belts, too. 1)Napa - 060445 2)Bando - 4pk 885 348k4

not sure if those are sizes or part numbers, though. everythingg35.com has the 2 proper belts for $30.

SUPER AWESOME MOD!!!! at low RPMS it feels like you're driving a torquey V-8.

It's been a while since I had mine put on but i think I paid about 120-140 for all 3 to be done. If anyone is in So. Cal there is a place in the city of Orange called "Project Import" that always gives me good prices. They are a small shop but they are really reasonable and they've always done a good job on my G.

lol these people keep saying you're wasting cash for 5hp, shows how much they are reading the thread. IT'S FOR THE ACCELERATION....anyways yeah I've been considering a set of pulleys myself but I will only do the Unorthodox to be on a sure side that I wont get a knock off, but you're good reviews have good me thinkin about getting it sooner. I hope all goes good for ya. HAPPY MODDING....

is there such a thing call Harmonic pulley? or it's harmonic balancer? I was looking for Harmonic pulleys on google and couldn't find them

I am very interested in getting this mod. By next month I'll have all my money together and I am planning on doing a lot of stuff to my car, this will definitely go into one of my considerations.

Ok, so what do I really need for this mod?Unorthodox Racing Overdirve crank pulley? Should I get the whole pulley sets or just the crank pulleys??ATI harmonic damper??? Is this one really necessary? And two belts right??

I'VE KNOWN ABOUT THE PULLEY FOR A LIL AFTER SOMEONE TOLD ME IT WAS A GREAT INEXPENSIVE WAY TO ADD A LIL MORE HP TOWARDS THE CAR, BY READING ALL THE THREADS, IT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT CHOICE, I ASKED A MECHANIC WHO HELPED ME OUT A WHILE BACK WHEN I TOTALLED MY CAR, HE HOOKED IT UP. HE SAID HE WOULD ONLY CHARGE ME ABOUT $70 TO INSTALL IT, I KNOW THATS A GREAT PRICE. THEN AGAIN IM NOT SURE IF HES EVER DEALT WITH A INFINITI G35 CUZ ALL THE CARS HE HAS ALL ALL OLD AND MESSED UP LOL...SO IF ITS NOT THAT HARD TO INSTALL, SHOULD I TRUST THIS GUY TO MAKE SURE HE'LL INSTALL IT RIGHT?

QUICK QUESTION OFF THE SUBJECT, I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM, I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO INSERT PICTURES LOL..A LIL HELP

for pictures you have to host them elsewhere and then link them here so use something like photobucket and host them there then copy thier embed link and there ya go, if the guy is reputeable then yea its not hard to do but you do have to make sure you get in inline or everything is gonna be wack

it's a harmonic balancer and i've only heard of it from one person. everyone else that i've spoken with did not install it. i didn't either.

all you need is the Unorthodox Racing crank pulley. the entire set won't do you much good. the crank pulley's the important one.

oh, and yes, 2 new belts. not sure what the sizes were. i put the sizes in this post somewhere, though.

anyone can do this install. it's not a toughy. just make sure they don't strip out the bolts when they put your skid plate back on, though! that pi$$ed me off royally!

Chad, if you mind , do you think you can get a DYNO run with the pulleys? and list what mods you have ... it will be a great way to help everyone consider this or not.

There was a lot of talk about 5 hp but stillen claims 10-14 (Which might explain how people are feeling the difference). Not sure if this is accurate but I am anxious to see some dynos!!!!

my 2 cents stay away from this mod.

the crank pulley is either the crank balancer of part of the crank balancer. Your ruining your crank running underdrive pulley's. Google it.
