Do you guys have any idea how many people you have offended. Niconauts who have officers in the family, officers themselves, or even worse they know or have an officer in their family who has been killed in the line of duty.

I finally clicked on this thread and after the first three posts it quickly became garbage, I'm sure officer Gale can't wait to get a membership now!!

Officers have a right to be rude or stiff when they pull someone over, they have know idea who you are. They have to be cautious and in control of the sitiuation or take a chance of being left for dead on the side of the road. How many of you would sign up to pull over strangers who have already shown a disrespect for the law and not know who they are or what they are capable of? I don't blame them for being 'stiff' after their fellow officer was gunned down after a routine traffic stop.

I am ashamed the content in this thread exists here on NICO, it could have been worthy, but thanks to those who don't think before they post its an eyesore!!

that page has some very good information on it, but the problem with following the advice is something the author admits to- that some officers are going to be doing things illegally anyway, and acting in that matter may incite them to harm you. I know that this has defintely been the case with my experiences with cops. I asked a cop if I was being detained when he asked me to sit down and he said no. He took my driver's license (I was present at the scene of someone doing donuts and there were open containers and they detained all of us). I asked why he wanted my license, and he kicked me and started taunting me and calling me names. He cuffed me, threw my cell phone and camera in the sand (it was at a beach) and put me in the back of his cruiser. He refused to give my license back, give me his name, or his badge number, and finally gave me back my license and left without charging anyone, just ruining a nice barbecue in the middle of nowhere.
