this is an easy one , however, if you are a multitasker like me I need my cigarette lighter as a source of power and it's dead, the two in the back are working, Can I just switch one of them out, If I can do this please tell me how to get that light out if the front console, I tried and I thought I was going to bust it up

If you're asking about the connector for the light that is part of the ashtray assembly then, yes, it is a bear to get that connector loose. There is a small plastic tab on that connector that either has to be squeezed or lifted before it will disconnect. Once you've released the tab, grip the connector top and bottom with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull straight out.

Be careful handling the ashtray assembly. The two tabs that attach it to the center console are delicate. If either breaks it's unusable. And yes, the lighter sockets are interchangeable front to rear.

You have to be better off to go to a junkyard and get the front lighter off a non-smoked=in car.

Have you plugged in something to that socket. If you just tested it with the lighter, it just might be the lighter. I'm a smoker and I went through 2 lighter in the 13 years I had the Q. I kept taking the lighters from the back. If you plugged something else in there and it didn't work, disregard what I said. Always check out the simplest thing.

This tells you how remove the ash tray assembly, and then I think you can remove the lighter.
