I was curious if they made a Cup Holder conversion for a S13 haha cause its kinda lame to put my drink in between my seat adn the door. this means not jsut removing ash tray nad putting cup in i mean i want a decent looking cup holder to replace my ash tray cause i dont smoke

Go down to your local ACEHardware or alternative and get some 2-Part Epoxy and Fiber glass. They even sell a kit. Follow the instructions. Make a mold around a QT large cup and mold that and you may want to buy some mold release to make it easier on you. Make sure when Mold the cup and apply the hardener/epoxy mix to the fiber glass around the cup that you have enough cloth left over to make it look clean to fill the hole(leave at least an Inch more then the width and breadth of the hole as it can b cut) AND the material with EXPOXY applied should only extend up a little bit shy of the total depth of the HOLEs depth as you dont want the Holder to be taller than the hole.

To fit a larger cup you may want to opt to cut these in the picture below. Cut #1 for decently large. Cut Both #1 and #2(also remove the light bulb) for pretty danged big beverages.

Anyone could do this. I MAY do a full write up with pictures if I decide to do it like i did in the past.

What would be a good price for a Ok/Nice looking Cup Holder?

I may do this as I need one.

I got a OEM from Nissan coinholder/cupholder that fits in the din slot below the radio. It's not very good at holding the big "SUPER-SIZED" drinks that we usually get over here though. It may be good for something small like a Redbull or something that size. If you're still interested though, you can find them on Ebay or get one from a dealership. It's a pain trying to balance those drinks in your lap or behind the passenger seat without having them spill before you get home.

advanced auto parts sells a cup holder that clips on your vents. its real nice since s14 never got cup holders, i guess nissan wanted to keep you thirsty... but anyway, its big enough to hold a king size drink from BK. it was like 7 dollars

Won't those cupholders mess up the vent over time? Just wondering.

In Japan they have cup holders that clip onto the dash vents. But why would you want to have liquid sloshing around when you're driving?

my old 240 never had an ashtray and i just used the hole itself as a cup holder hahahah

but now with my 89, i have an ashtray. and ill bet i can convert the actual ashtray into a cup holder! that way i wouldnt have to try and custom cut something to fit in the hole perfect. i would just shave the lip off the ashtray cover, and fiber glass in the bottom piece of a large cup... would probly end up looking almost exactly like positrons

does anyone find it annoying to shift when there's a fricken big gulp where ur ash tray is? As for my experiences with the vent cup holders.. most of them brake real soon.. get a good one or else it wont even hold ur drink well enuff. and when u turn hard and i kno u guys on here love to.. the drink'll flip out. As for me planning on getting the in-dash cup holders for the lame passengers. damn jamba juice.

Thats exactly what I did. The holder itself is just a shallow-size cup holder from the local marina (Actually now that I think about it, I believe I got this from Bass Pro Shop in their boat section, but any marina will have thousands of them too). The plate the holder sits in is just the top of my ashtray (obviously after I removed it from the bottom of the ash tray), with the little opener 'hump' filed off and sanded smooth. Then I traced the bottom of the cup holder on the lid, drilled a bunch of small holes around the traced line, then filed enough of the inside edge until the cup holder slid in without binding.

Flip it over, epoxy the crap out of it to hold the cupholder into place in the plate. Remove the console , epoxy the cupholder/plate into place, and reinstall.

There are a couple of crucial steps I am leaving out because I am at work and I shouldnt be on here right now so I dont have time, but if enough people are interested I have pictures I took when I did all this, I can write up in detail how to do it if enough people are interested. I promised to do this in another thread a few months back but never got to it and the thread kind of died off.

my trick was jamming it between the passenger seat and the center console, but that picture with the black insert made me think, in the new 240 i just bought i think im gona get a hole saw, cut the ash tray and that insert looks like one out of a bronco.... ill see

Sweet. Only thing that Im question is when you shift. When you have a cup in the holder, does it get in the way?
