Um, It's been obvious forever that you can make money off pot. You tax the s*** out of it. The govn't knows this :) They are worried about all the dealers and growers they will put out of business, who could do much worse than grow pot and sell it. :yesnod

A friend of mine also believes that the govn't won't do it because if you smoke a ****load of pot and wake up to go to work you feel fine. If you drink a ****load of alcohol and wake up you don't want to live for very long. That effect weens some people away from alcohol, or atleast over consumption. Now with pot you can smoke a bowl and go to work and funtion fine, it's like taking paxil or some s***. You're just a lot happier being there, you funtion normal, and everyone is happy. The govn't doesn't want a bunch of stoned people walking the streets everyday.

I hope that makes sense, I need to stop blowing all my money at bars :beer

i'm ****ed too now. vodka is a curse.

i disagree, i think if the gov't didnt want a bunch of stoned people walking around, they also wouldnt have wanted a bunch of drunk people walking the streets. the reason why alcohol and cigarettes are out, is because the gov't makes a killing off of their tax. i will bet my rims that once weed becomes legal throughout america, cocaine is soon to follow. and i'm not kidding.

think about the pro's and cons of each before you reply. make a list of alcohol, cigarettes, weed, and cocaine. you'll find none of them are that diferent from eachother.

maybe that makes sense?

Makes sense to legalize it, but it probably won't happen any time soon until voters elect a congress who agree with legalization. Unfortunately there are lot of more people who vote and contribute big money to politicians that are against legalization, than there are that support legalization.

The nonsense with tobacco is a huge hypocrisy. The government needs the cigarette industry because of the tax revenues it brings in, and the jobs it creates. Yes, they're bad for you, and you live shorter if you smoke, but Social Secureity would go bankrupt very quickly if all smokers quit and lived 15 years longer. The states went for the big money grab suing the tobacco companies, and raising cig sales taxes. How many states actually use that windfall money for health issues related to tobacco? I don't smoke but I don't care if someone else does. It's their body if they want to ruin it. My biggest problem with cigarettes are the f'ing slobs that toss their butts all over the place.

cocaine and weed are two different animals. the government also wouldnt legalize cocaine because the money they make off of weed would far surpase the money made off of cocaine. The gov't is all about money but in the case of cocaine the profits dont outweight the negatives.

Just so long as the laws still apply to where we don't have stoned idiots driving or walking around the streets I wouldn't care as much. I hate all drugs, but I guess if someone else wants to **** up their life or whatever, more power too them. That is until I have to start paying for their idiocy, then it makes me unhappy.

once weed becomes legal, cigarettes will fade away.the same will happen with cocaine replacing weed in a LONG time.

its going to continue with each step, having the next one creating a wider user base with larger profits. there isnt that much of a difference between drugs once you start using them. its alot like a set of stairs, and you keep walking up each one.

Cocaine would never replace weed because of the obvious adverse effects of cocaine. For that matter weed wouldnt replace cigs because they are used for 2 different things. Anyone who goes to or has gone to public school has had access to weed almost as if it is legal. Legalizing it isnt going to make cigs dissapear, its just going to make the weed business less shady.
