hi, i got a 97 ka24de that am rebuilding, and i have both arp head & mains studs, now the problem is that the main studs, they're all the same lenght(i got'em from frsport part # 202-5401) when there is supposed to be 3 longer studs and 7 regular size studs.

i'd like to get the engine done asap, so my question is could i use the stock 3 long bolts?or should i just go ahead and order the other 3 studs(aparently you can get just the 3 from arp)

another thing that i though is could i just unscrew the 3 studs further up?(enough to where it shows the stud and i can put the nut through), this would just seem a really bad idea but for the other studs when you hand tighten them, you are supposed to rotate'em back 1/4 or more so that when you torque'em, it'll seat right.

i plan on running a max of 600rwhp or so. i've never heard of anyone breaking stock studs.

If your dead set on not waiting, then yea, you can use the stock bolts. It defiantly defeats the purpose of running ARP hardware but w/e.

I dont think theres anything wrong with the stock main bolts.. They arnt going to stretch or break.

yeah i was thinking the same, i think that it doesn't get as much force as say head studs.

i haven't had the car for a month(currently only car i have), so i kinda need running asap.

I just put in new stockers from nissan, and you are right i would be more concered with the head. I have yet to see any one say that their main bolts failed them on the ka.

Stock hardware all around unless your goals include breaking 450whp.

They are overengineered like pretty much everything else on the KA.
