So yesterday I went to borrow a torque wrench from a friend and bought a 3/16 allen head socket for it to install the studs. I put the ARP lube on the stud and started to torque it to 70ft/lbs but before getting there the head broke off the socket (the allen head). I just bought whatever brand Lowes carries. I am gonna go get a craftsman socket today. Unless anyone has any suggestions on how to get those torqued down. Thanks

ummmmm hahaha.... you are torquing the stud into the block?? you are only supposed to hand tighten those in with an allen key or something. the tq from the nut will tighten the stud down into the block

could I use the 'baby failed' pic twice in one week?

Yea, hand tight the studs, torque the nuts.

+1

youll never find an allen key that wont strip or break that high. the stud shouldnt be torqued that much.

On a side note then do I put that ARP lube on both sides of the stud.

The important part is the nut end since the bottom is not being torqued. It is more of being pulled upwards by the nut. With that said, I lubed up both ends.

not on the Rb but on an Eagle Talon I had the head bolts were allen, I bought a Snap-On socket that would handle that kind of torque. But yeah for the RB I snugged them in with a allen socket and lube on both ends will do the trick.
