Well... Last night I was driving the '08 Armada on a set of nearly bald tires in the rain. I went over a set of train tracks on a narrow road and the car started to slide. I ended up going off the road and right into a tree at about 30-40 mph. :frown: Airbag deployed :facepalm2 and I walked away with nothing more than a small pain in my ankle. The front end of the car is in bad shape and I'm still waiting to hear back to see if it's totaled or not. I think it looks worse than it actually is and I can only hope im right. And if I may, I'd like to thank Nissan for putting together such a strong car. The EMT that showed up said if I was in something less safe the outcome could have been a lot worse. I'll see if I can get a few pics up of the current condition of my Mada.

I am sure glad you walked away from this! Sorry to hear about the accident. Hopefully your Armada is ok, but you know what, if it isn't, the 2010 or 2011 Platinum might be a real nice choice for you! Glad all is well though, good luck with everything.

Glad to hear you are okay. Hopefully, this is a learning lesson about tires and their need to be replaced. I'll also add that you don't necessarily want to wait until you are at the minimum tread depth before replacing either. Some recommend replacing before then if you are heading into the rainy season for your area. Take the following article for what its worth since it is a tire sales business. But I've not found any major faults in any of their tech articles...

Thanks guys. Still waiting to find out what's going to happen to the car. If it's totaled I'm not so sure I'd be able to afford another Armada. That's the reason the worn out tires were still on the car because money is tight for me at the moment. Also, how do I get pictures up for people to see? Because I can't figure it out. I have pics of the car saved onto my computer but I don't know how to get them onto this thread.

Host them on a free hosting site such as Photo Bucket. Then use the "IMG" tool when posting, paste the link of the photo and you are all set. If you need help let me know, I can get them posted for you if you would like!

While I can appreciate the financial aspect of the matter (especially given the current state of the economy), as a thought for reflection, is that the excuse you'll have if you were to have died? How about if you ended up hitting another car and killing someone? How about if a friend or family member was in the car with you and they died? Excuses don't make a problem go away.

To be clear, I have no intent of being judgmental here. I'm far from perfect and have certainly made my share of bonehead decisions. Especially when I was your age. But as I said before, I'm hoping you take this as a learning lesson. No one was harmed in this accident, but things could have turned out very different. And trust me, I've had a few moments in my life that I can reflect upon and realize that if one thing was different, I wouldn't be here typing this.

Glad you're ok. Looking forward to seeing the Armada and how she did her job.

Sorry you had to learn about bald tires and wet pavement the hard way. :(
