Just curious if anyone out there has installed this Stillen Supercharger on their Armada or QX56. I would (and many others) would love to hear how the install went and what kind of results you experienced.

STILLEN Armada / QX56 Intercooled Supercharger System

http://www.stillen.com/product...m=all

Our superchargers for the Nissan/Infiniti are based on an Eaton positive displacement twin rotor unit. We settled on this design after months of research because of its track record of reliable performance. This is the same unit employed by OE manufacturers such as Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, Ford, General Motors, Toyota and others. Before bringing this kit to market we spent hours upon hours in design, testing, dyno time and day-to-day driving to perfectly tune the kit. It was then rigorously tested over thousands of miles in all driving conditions to prove reliability. After a total of 13 intensive months of R&D, we are proud to offer the most reliable forced induction system on the market.

When we began the process, we first defined our goals. All have been achieved:

• To offer long lasting reliable power• To produce power throughout the entire RPM range (real world "streetable" performance)• To meet stringent C.A.R.B. requirements

Good point, I bet it does really drop, but with that kind of power, does it really matter?

I was sort of interested when they first came out but all that power for that much was kinda expensive. I take it with all the RnD they put into it you figure it has to be costly though. With the cost of fuel and not wanting to put an early grave for our mid expensive rides, it made me think about it. And to be second still to a Cayenne closed it too.

didnt do the install but have it on my QX. Its like dating a supermodel. You love it out on the town but it high maintnance for the day to day. Constantly have to take it back to infiniti to quiet the squeeks and rumbles. My wife wishes it was at the bottom of the ocean but for that large of a vehicle it is impressive when you stomp it. Has broken traction a couple times at 45mph hich can be a little nerve racking when you are not expecting it. Mpg not that bad on the hwy but drops to about 11 in town again depending on how you drive

Welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you here in the Armada/QX56 Forum! Thanks for the feedback on the supercharger, that sure sounds sweet, but I think I would be more likely to buy it if my '08 Armada was my "second" vehicle and not my primary driver. That sure does sound like a lot of fun though, I would love to see that on a 5.6 Pathfinder, that would be crazy!

All of the Stillen kits we've fixed have shown roughly 30-38hp gain over stock when they came in, with very poor gas mileage. This has nothing to do with the design of the supercharger itself, just the issues with running a sub par fuel system and piggy back tuning module.

We generally get these after someone has paid money to have them installed and then we have to charge for going back in and solving the issues. Your best bet if you're looking at doing a Stillen SC on the Titan/Armada/QX56/PathfinderV8 is as follows:

Buy the system but do not install the fuel setup or piggy back.Add a Walbro 255lph fuel pump.Add 550cc Injectors.Add proper tuning via Osiris.

Save yourself a huge headache, add driveability, add mileage/economy, and generally a large increase in power.

Like I said the trucks usually come to us because they run so poorly and have such a little power gain per dollar spent. They leave closer to the 100hp gain stated by Stillen, and they drive as well as they did stock.

Also realize once you're at 100hp or so above stock power the transmission is your big weak link. And you won't be putting a ton of power to the ground without a new differential, otherwise it's you'll have yourself a one tire fire everywhere.

I have an 06 with the Stillen supercharger. I have never driven a stock QX so I am not exactly sure how much power I have over stock. It does sounds really cool and it's got a good amount of pick up for a large SUV.

Good times

Yeah.....I don't know if I should upGrade to the ULTRA BEast.... Already in enuf trouble with the almost stock..... Need new sets of wheels already YO..... maybe I should not turn off the VDC....not... I hate that.... Let me do my own corrections...... STock is coo.... maybe add a superchip and intake and I'm good... if I drove one with the supA Charge I don't know if I could go back to stock.........

Might as well, make it stage 2 racing or something... With that type of speed and horsepower .... I wont be able to tow my toyz safely....ya know or stopN power..... You might hav to Mod prett much everything from the brakes to the transmission and put a police intecepter sticker on it.... or even racing stripes.... and star in fast & furions part 5....heheh..

Yo dx3. Too..Bad you live in tin Buck 2..... I'm in da West Side... I would have let you test mine out....

Infinite,

I have the Stillen brakes as well so she stops pretty well. While I rarely take advantage of the supercharger, it is nice to have when I need to merge, or I have some punkass kid trying to do his ricer flyby

The look on people's faces when you whiz by them like they are standing still is priceles...

From what I understand, the transmissions in these things are pretty stout. Perhaps a valve body upgrade would help you stay off redline, but I never really get on it so I don't feel the need for it.

It is definitely an expensive mod... but how many people can say "Yeah, it's a supercharged QX56"

Actually the transmissions in the Titan/Armada is the weak point. Even with the valve body upgrade anything over 100hp more than stock and the transmission eats itself alive.

We've spent the last 3 months developing more software to help control the transmission to add some high HP reliability. We've burnt up no less than 5 transmissions in the process, and the repair costs are not inexpensive. Expecting to have the software available to our Pro Tuners by the end of June though and it's looking very promising. Right now we're dealing with a turbo Titan, so if we can make that transmission handle some heavy quartermile abuse we should be good to go.

As a follow up. We've done a number of the Stillen SC kits for customers through our Pro Tuner network, and with a good tune, all the customers have been extremely happy.
