Does anyone know on a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder Armada SE - Where does the Supplied Tow Brake Control Harness Plug into??? The Harness is made to plug in under the dash and hook to an Accessory Power brake controller for use with Electric Brakes on a big enclosed trailer. I found the Harness in the glove box and went through the owners’ manual and I could NOT find anything about where this harness plugs into the Armada. I have pulled the drives dash down and the glove box is out of the Armada and I can NOT see where this harness plugs in... HELP ME!!! PLEASE. The Harness is made to plug in under the dash and hook to the Accessory Power brake controller... Why is there no mention of this anywhere? Is there going to be any update on the front brakes rotors? At 5,000 miles Buena Park Nissan turned my front brake rotors and replaced the front pads under warranty and I now have almost 9,000 miles on my Armada LE and the steering wheel is starting to shake again while braking. This is my first time towing anything and I am very nervous. In the past, I have had four Suburbans’s and my last SUV was a Ford Excursion. I put two sets of front pads on my Excursion in 48,000 miles.More problems - Not only does the steering wheel shake while braking but now after a few miles on the Armada the wheel seems to shake over and good bump – like railroad tracks and other normal bumps on the highway at speed. My DVD played fell from the roof one day while driving down the road. The whole console just broke down from the roof. The blots pulled right through the plastic. I took it to the dealer and they ordered me a new console and it has almost been one month and I have heard nothing from Nissan of Buena Park about my new console. I am so glad I didn’t have any passengers at the time it fell down. Will there be a better way to secure this overhead console? It is very hard to look at a DVD while driving down the freeway. It bounces so much while driving at freeway speeds. My last and biggest complaint is the harmonic noise on the highway. At certain speeds the Armada makes a harmonic drown kind of noise that is VERY annoying. It almost makes you sick to your stomach. Say you where to leave the Nissan Offices near the 110 Freeway and the 91 Freeway and head East on the 91 Freeway. At 65 miles per hour while heading East on the 91 Freeway the Armada will make this noise and the only way to stop it is to change your speed. It does this on very smooth asphalt too. It is the noise like when you are driving a car with a sunroof and while going 65 miles per hour if you were to pull the sunroof wind deflector down and the wind come inside the car it feel like it is going to blow the back window out of the car. My 1978 Porsche 924 did this noise real bad when you did this.I don’t know if you can tell by now. but I am a Technician on cars myself. I use to work at Beverly Hills Porsche Audi and I would like to get these issues answered in the best way possible. If a Field technician rep or if anyone at Nissan Headquartes would like to drive my Armada I am free to come visit them anytime. My brother purchased the new Infiniti QX-56 and his is having a few of these problems too. Especially the freeway noise drives him crazy too! His QX-56 I can bring to you also.

Thanks, Gary

Gary this site is in no way ,at this time, associated with NNA[nissan north america] Although I do know about some of your problems and there are fixes for them. first the noise you here on the free way, there are 2 possible causes one is the roof supports that go across the roof are not tacked to the roof it self, this allows the roof panel to flutter in the wind so to speak. There is a TSB which addresses this by bonding the cross bars to the roof.

the other possible cause is changing one of the rear body mounts to dampen a certain frequency vibration from the drive train that resinates through the mount into the cabin area. this is most likely the noise you are hearing since you mention the nausiating effect. What is happening is that vibration happens to match another vibrations frequency exactly and it becomes a stereo type noise which can cause the "ear pressure, sick stomich feeling" this one I am not sure if it has become a bulliten yet but it is a known problem and has a repair to address it. If your local dealer doesnt know about it have them call techline and inquire about it.

The brake problem is being worked on but for the time being they are only doing temporary fixes. This is the machining rotors and pad replacement service they are doing.

The plug for the trailer harness is attached just above the ebrake cable taped to the main loom. break the tape and plug the pig tail harness connector into it. Do this only after you wire it up to your trailer brake controller. TSB on install to follow.

The over head console has been a problem no revised part numbers at the moment but I belive what happened was the consule was over torqued at the factory during install [my opinion] once they replace it you shouldn,t have such a bouncy screen veiw.

If I missed any of your concerns just post back and I will try to respond to them. ooh the steering shake I havent heard of yet .

Hey, I had the same thing happen to my Armada, everytime i would brake from around 45 mph and down, my steering wheel starts to shake like crazy, and it started like around 4500 miles, it also feels like my brakes are going out too....man it sucks, but I still love the Armada, I wont let a minor thing get me discourage....
