Hi Guys,I am so happy with my 97Q (currently 93K miles), that for the 2nd car in the family, we looked at a blk/blk 98Q45 with 59K miles on it.We are in Bay area, California. This car was private leased in Arizona, single owner until now.Asking price $15.5K.

How do I run the VIN through the infiniti database to check the history? I doubt if any real service was done on it at all? So I will have to spend 1.5K or so right away to keep the parts clear.

Any issues with arizona Qs? Too much AC usage?

any clue will be great.thanksPN,San Jose, CA 97.5 Q45

AZ cars are generally rust free.Nothing else I can think of.And nothing that would pre-dispose a guy against them.Of course we have a couple of AZ residents they might chime in

PN - I'm happy to go look at a car for you.

No issues with AZ cars - Typically, they've seen rain once or twice a year. Never seen salted roads or snow. If kept indoors or under covered parking, AZ climate is remarkably harmless. A/C usage is a good thing. More use = better.

Biggest issue is rubber and interior vinyl (but that's easy to check) and I can tell if a car has been garaged or not (remove gas filler door and compare paint shade to that on the roof/hood).

If it was leased, I'll bet the service WAS done, probably by a dealer - typically there is a clause about adhering to the manufacturers' maintenance schedule in the lease agreement. Call me (602-828-8908) with the VIN and I can get a printout from the dealer for you (I'll be over there tomorrow).

I'd also be glad to deliver it (for a small fee).:D

The guy who is selling the car has got the car here in san jose! He bought it in an auto auction (after the lease return, listed in the auction as a repossession).

The car was leased in Phoenix. Seems like a "5" year lease. 12K per year. Who would do a 5yr lease?

If the salesmen had their way everyone. That way they could get you into even more car than you can afford.

Sorry, for the interjection of opinion, but I've had way too many friends ask me to help them get out of a long lease, while they were ovcer on miles. And they all say it's cause the sales guy convinced them they could drive it for 3 years and then unload it by getting into another lease. UGH.

Sorry for the vent.

Hey, if you want to look at any sweet deals in Cincy let me know.

My coworker picked up a '97Q with 86k for $8700 over the weekend. What a deal!

I have a five year lease on my 98 Q45 (which is for sale - go look in the buy/sell/trade forum) and I can tell you people do 5 year leases to have a lower payment.

I would be cautious if it was a repo.

Of course, I have all the receipts and am a known quantity. The seller here...well who knows...could have been Mario Andretti for all you know. :)~
