Well the new car went maybe 1 week, 10 days before a truck threw a rock that grazed the hood of the car. Didn't penetrate to the metal, so I'll live with it.

Fast forward to today. I parallel park, the tires are touching the curb (unintentially) but no damage to anything.

I come back out later, I'm squeezed in front by another car (previously the spot was vacant) and ended up curbing a rim trying to get out.

So in less than a month's time, I've pretty much shot the 'newness' right out

Oh well. It's just a car, I keep muttering. Just a car...

DDOOOOHHHH!

Been there done that Jim! 2nd day of joyful bliss was interupted by a wayward curb, I wasnt use to the length of the car (compared to the integra) and snagged a curb with the rear passenger wheel making a turn leaving the bank.

My heart sunk and flattend my bladder. I didnt want to go home and look....but I did.... a good 2 inch gash right on the rims edge! Wasnt too bad (repeated a good dozen times by inner voice)at least it didnt get a fin. The dealer said they would fix it for me when I bring it in again ( "The Rim Doctor")

Sorry to hear about all of it. If there werent any wayward rocks, birds with diahrea, or Kamakazi curbs.....life would be good!

LOL! Thanks for the laugh this morning. But I think VW has the patent on the "it's not a car" advertisement

My curb rash is less than an inch long, and not noticeable unless you're right up on it (thank goodness). It appears to be more a 'smudge' than a scratch, if that makes sense. Hasn't affected the wheel/tire balance at all.

Let me know how the Wheel Doctor works out. I'd be interested in seeing before/after pics.
