I bought a Autometer Pro-Comp Ultra Lite water temp gauge. Showed up today looking all pretty. Then I bust out my sensor adapter:

Well, the hole is 1/8 BSPT. The sender is way bigger. Any ideas? I really don't want to get a new gauge.

Well, the sender is 5/8 of an inch. I am gonna run to LoweSpeed and Home Depot Racing tomorrow and see if I can find a some fitting so I can drill out the hole on the adapter and try to get something to work. Damn.....nothing is EVER easy!

most autometer gauges ive seen had a 1/8 npt sender with fittings for 3/8 and 1/2 npt as well. maybe you could just get an npt - bspt adapter or just retap it?

Well, the bigger issue is the sender is about 2.5" long, and the adapter is only 38mm wide. Soooo....yeah. I am selling this one (f*ing mechanical gauge) and get the electronic one for how much I paid for this...sigh...

Sorry for wasting bandwidth.

Sh*t Sh*t Sh*t...I just bought that too but havnt had a chance to try n install it yet... great more problems...Are you trying to install it with the sensor adapter that relocates it to a coolant line? or are you trying to install it into the block beneith the exaust manifold?

mechanical senders are much bigger, you need the 1/8 npt size sender.

make shure you ground the hose adapter where your sender goes or esle you gauge wont wrok right.
