LESS THEN A GOD DAMN WEEK OUTSIDE MY FRONT HOUSE NOT MOVED AT ALL!today i go outside and my hood is bent back and wont open properly.

after much bending of the fender and a few paint chips i was able to open the hood and took a few pics of the control arm things is it my or do they look bent?

no opened fine like 2 days ago and i try to open it today and get like a screech sound and i look to the side in horror as i see my fenders being bent upwards

it was clean and this was not from the seller i opened it before and worked fine now it does not its as if it happened overnight i know its not the sellers fault because i had the car checked out before i bought it its cheap because he was like a friend of my moms friend so he sold it fast because he needed to pay off a loan for his house.that's not the point though,do they look really damaged? should i go to a body shop and ask them? or gust grab a hammer and "straighten things out"?can someone post a pic of what theirs look look from the same angle?

Exact same thing happened to me on Friday and I don't know why either. Same spot too. No visible signs of damage prior.

Mine doesn't seem to be as bad as yours. My right corner of the hood catches the fender at the same spot, but its only the very corner of my hood. I lost some paint when I found out the hard way. I think someone sat on my hood/fender. Probably going to have to tweak the control arm a bit, but for now I'm using a soft rag in between the hood and fender when I pop the hood. Temp fix, but effective. I'm going to work on that Thursday. I'll let you know what I find.

Naz: Without looking at the car closely and underneath the bumber, I would say this damage could only occur two ways:1: You let somebody drive the car and they did not latch the hood and it flew open while moving bending the hinges back.OR2: You car was hit in the front while parked and the damage is not visible on the bumber. Look underneath the front cover for any signs it was pushed back.

The damages I see are not minor or incidental. You either have wasted hinges or unibody damage. Based on my experience in the auto collision damage field, my guess is the hood blew open...

the thing is, nobody drove it.im leaning towards the fact someone in a big car(there was a hummer parked in front of it on that day) may have pushed the hood in a bit.i am going to a body shop within the next week to ask them their opinion.Thanks for all the help everybody.

LOL same s*** happened to me..... My alternator died a and all I had was that battery booster (bettery jumper whatever peepz are calling it).So I hooked that up and the hood didnt close. I wasnt thinking and started driving and then.....ya should know. Hood flew back and messed up my fenders and hinges.... Ill post pics sometime this weekend..
