If anybody is bidding on this Q, let me know. I just bid on it, and didn't want to step on anybody's toes.

Thanks

Nah, don't bother.

I am a little leery, with no Feedback. It's not really the color I want, and I am not crazy about the '96, with the OBD-II

I will call them, today. I asked them a bunch of questions, and asked for a bunch of additional pictures. They replied "Give me a call"

I am outbid, at the moment, and I might not bid again.

I am REALLY busy, at work, and don't have the time to do the research.

Most Q's had the cassette in the dash, and a 10 disc changer in the trunk. I have found that some didn't have the changers. In '97, they went to a disc/cassette in the dash, with the changer in the trunk only housing 6 CD's.

Back then, all the self-help stuff was on tape.

I was wondering this too as it seems other 1995 Q's have a 6 disc player, but I have a 10 disc.

Maybe Joe can tell us.

I was under the impression they both used the same rectangular/molex style 16 pin (but only 14 pins) plug.

10 disc Sony was the ONLY stock offering up to late 95.

Major problems with the Sony 10, so they switched to the Clarion 6. All dealer warranty replacements were done with the Clarion, and whenever one died OUT of warranty, the dealer sold the customer the Clarion.

If your 10 is still functional, it is rare.

My 95 has the Sony 10. It did break once and I had to shell out over $500 for a new one from the dealer. They never told me about a Clarion replacement....grrrrrrr. In any case, it still works....knock on wood.

My 1995 Q45 had a 10-disk Sony.

Interesting!

My 95 Q had its 10-disk Sony repaired (under extended warranty) and it was working just great when I sold the car in Sept last year.

I had even bought an extra 10-disk Sony cartridge when I first bought my 91 Q back in 1991, so the new owner of my 95 Q was real pleased to get two cartridges (the third cartridge went with the 91 Q that I traded in for the 95 Q in 1998)! :)

Question for you guys: Do your CD changers work with the separate HU without having to change to an FM station on the radio. I hate FM modulated CD changers.

Hey Nick, yes it does. There is a CD button, that enables the changer.

My 10-disc sony has a separate "head unit". When I press play on the "head unit", the radio turns off. When I press radio on the main head unit, the CD player turns off.

that's what I was thinking...

I hate changers though. so annoying to have to stop and get in the trunk to change it to something I wanna listen too...

What? I'm a picky listener...

I dont mind the CD changer, in fact if you hvae 2 magazines i think its better than a in dash... I dont like fumbling around for CDs.. Obviously the optimum would be an in-cabin deal..... Its easier to switch disks in 3 seconds by pressing a button.....

Maybe Ill work on rewiring it; one of these days!!

Pre-94's use the seperate "controller" that mounts where the cup holder would/should be.

10 CD was standard on later G50 only on t and a models. 6 CD is a dealer installed option. I have two ten CD players on two different G50, and prefer the 10 CD (I have six) magazines to my wife's 6 CD. The one in my Seattle car likes to hold a hostage CD every 8 months or so.

Every audio place I've talked to have never heard of this setup before they saw my car. Apparently it is EXTREMELY rare.

[Shameless plug] Great :D, cause I have one from a 91 Q that I was hoping I could make work for my car and after talking with folks decided to to even try :(. Any pre-93 owner want a good deal on a spare, with 2 cartridges?[/Shameless plug]

That's the only way G50 came from the factory with a CD player. They were rare.
