ChunkiDori-- used the term "Hard Parker" in past thread... had me cracking up... Per CD a Hard Parker is person that is basically all show no go...

So this thread is ---You know you are a Hard Parker if you have 18s on your drfit ride...

You know you are a hard parker if you have the stickers but not the mods...

You know you are a hard parker if________

ooouch, harshness CD, just a little misinterpretation. daniel, wtf is your prob? Sorry that I have a dad that has as much fun working on my car as much as I do. Sorry that because of this, he spends money and enjoys every cent spent as much as I do. Oh and btw: not that much money was spent on this project. And, if I had the job that could pay for it I WOULD. Get this through your head, Im not some spoiled brat who goes to daddy for everything, inlcuding a soiled ***. More like a fortunate teen who was lucky enough to have a kind father who was also interested in my car as much as I am. Finally, I'll tell my dad that he got CD's term wrong, but seriously guys, whats up with the harshness?

BTW: if I somehow misread the way that the comments were intended to be read, then I also apologize.

Who cares if he helps his kid out? shut the **** up. When I have kids I have every intention of helping them get a car they will be happy with, that isn't ridiculously expensive. In today's money, I'd be willing to spend about 7-8000 for my kids first car. Its not too ridiculous and just because your parents didn't do it for you, doesn't mean its not the right thing to do.

If I see another thread like this, some folks are gonna go bye-bye.

Not cool at all.

Altiman / daniel - I believe you owe someone an apology. I'll leave the thread open for that purpose.

Fly / xns, my apologies on their behalf. You can go back to laughing at CD now, that's what we hired him for. :)

I never stopped laughing... through this thread... no personal offense taken... I thought the "Hard Parker" term was too funny, So I still think this is pretty funny...

sorta like the comedian that has the little bit " you know you are redneck if...." and has about 100 examples... plus he is a redneck himself!!

As for what I have or have not helped out my son with... I really don't care if you approve or not, I am neither seeking your approval or am in need of your approval.

I happen to want to be involved in and a part of all my kids life. He is 17... he is into cars... sounds good to me...

I might check back with DC and Danny in 17 years and see how the relationship is with their kids, or if they are even talking to their kids. BTW --- How often are you guys talking to your own fathers...

AS for the money.... it is only money... I do not need to buy a relationship with my kids. The relationship has always been there it is just now focused around cars and stuff.

I work hard at what I do and a result I am able to provide a few things for our project that may seem a bit extravagant to some...but from my point of veiw if you are going to do something... do it right the first time... sometimes that might cost a dollar or two... I beleive XNS knows the value of money as well as how to negotiate a deal... for example The $6,000 paint job... actually got done for free as return for a favor I did for someone...

Anyways, sort of running on here and am way off topic... I still think DC's term Hard Parker is too funny...

Me and XNS will be in Vegas... hope to meet you guys there DC and Daniel if you come out I will buy you guys a beer...if you are legal

BTW-- I peridically buy parts for random people I will probablly never meet that seem to have a need here on NICO... Am I spoiling those guys too?

LOL - :owned by DAD!!!

Fly, gotta hand it to you. I would have never spoken to my Dad if we hadn't had the common bond of restoring a couple antique cars and participating in shows...

My proudest moment was seeing him win Best of Show for his class and then me getting Best Engine for my class, being on stage together.

xns is fortunate to have a father that cares about his project - Lots of dads would say their kid is wasting his time on a POS car.

I have 3 kids, and we're JUST getting ready to start on our first father-son project car... Details on the way!

Keep up the great work.

p.s. "Hard parker" is STILL funny.

You KNOW you're a hard parker if you turn your front wheels to one side when you park. :)

Thanks hitman... we are having a good time. This web site has been a great resource for information about XNS' 240. reading all the posts we learned how to set the car up right and not make it look as though we are trying to make it something it isn't...

The "finished" car will be posted this week... 240sx.org is largley responsible for many of the MOD choices that were made, so in a way many NICO members helped acheive our current result

So watch for that post... XNS hasn't seen the car since paint, I have ... this 240 looks better than new by a mile...

opps... if yer car ain't banged up from driftn' you must be a Hard Parker...

haha, I don't speak to my dad because he's a jackass.

remember kids, when you have kids, don't be jackasses if you want your future children to talk to you.

it's also important when your kid towers over you. and is a lot meaner.

I'm a Parker Lewis.

I can't lose! mahwhhahahahahha!!1

oh, don't hate because the car is getting modified quicker then ours, just use it as a reason to work that much harder on yours or something...

Can't wait to see it. It genuinely makes me happy to see a father and son sharing an activity and having a good time doing it. My dad and I work on our (mostly my) cars, and we have a blast doing it too. I'm sure this will be an experience that will stick with your son for the rest of his life.
