Are those cheap intakes on Ebay worth getting?

Hey fellas, I'm searching as much as I can on this page. I never plan to do anything more than intake, exhaust (possibly header later on) and definitely suspension.

On ebay theres all kinds fo 15-30 dollar intakes for the 89 s13, but I'm wondering is it worth buying?

EDIT: the ones with just the adapter and the filter is what I'm talking about. :)

I can't run a ram air type setup where the filter sits loww in the engine bay, due to the fact this car is going to be next winter's beast.

thanks in advance,

lbrowne

Just spend the $40 and get a nice K&N filter from summit racing, or any other online place.

a normal short ram intake from injen or aem is going to put the filter in the same place that a k&n or ebay filter would, it just replaces the tube too. the ones that put the filter really low are cold air systems

yhe man go ahead and spend that 30 bucks on the adapter and filter off ebay. It really is worth it. you'll have increased throttle response and a free up a few horsepower, plus a nice growl from underneth your hood! :)

good luck bro

lol.....a *real* cheap (synonymous w/ ghetto here) way to do it is just take an APC "performance" filter and fold that rubber into the MAF....it'll fit w/ minimum effort....plugs right in. just replaces stock air box, "short ram", and if nothing else, at least it's a 360 degree filter....i dunno....just a real simple (also synonymous w/ ghetto) solution

if you dont really care about your ride then yeah go ahead and buy an ebay intake. I say just save a few dollars and get an Injen or Aem intake, I dont think anyone really wants cheap parts on their rides.

yeah, if you're gonna go ahead and do I/H/E and suspension, you might as well do it right, and like i said before, you don't have to worry about it being low in the engine bay, that's just the cold air intakes that do that.

Cheap intakes on ebay is almost the same as cheap $1.00 oil filters.

Well I should have seen this one a MILE away, i get the intake for 19 US, but lo and behold when i request a total to pay from them, its 42 US

you got it right, how in the hell does it cost that much to ship this item. My 4.10 gears, or Lower Control arms for the Trans Am didn't cost NEAR that to ship, and they both weigh *alot* more.

i hate crooks.
