Keep seeing these pop up on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

The thing I notice on my car is there's a rubber roundish lip that pokes out along the frontal part of the driver and passenger side windows. i wonder if it's required to cut those off before installing a pillar kit like this.

I have seen them and my opinion is stay away from them. I am sure if they are done right they will look good, however I am not sure how long they will look good.

I've gotta think that chrome window trim is going to look tacky no matter what, but cheap stuff like that is going to be twice as bad. A rule I've followed with most cars is to stay away from stuff you can't find anywhere but Ebay. It's usually total garbage (judging by the feedback we've seen on the altezza lights, the billet grill, and some of the other chrome trim pieces.)

Yeah what are those little rubber things? Mine got twisted and caught in the window.

I don't entirely agree. For example, my Mini has a standard blacked out pillar treatment and it really helps delineate the body line below the windows which is chrome. It is definitely the best look for the car. I've also seen brushed stainless that looked very good and had the same visual impact. If done "right", I think this could be a good look for the Versa. Although, the consensus so far is that these are not done right.

Car's not designed to have lots of chrome on it from the factory do not need pieces like that. Most cars that have thosw chrome accents look terrible. If the manufacturer did not design the pieces chances are the car won't look right with it, which is the case for most modern cars.

Doesn't look terrible in THAT picture, but I'd imagine it's pretty tacky in person.

I agree. One of the local Nissan dealerships likes to put chrome grilles in a bunch of their new cars and set them up on the front line facing the street. It just looks tacky when I drive by.

Of course, it's also in a kinda ghetto area, so it probably looks like extra bling to everyone else who drives by.

All the used car lots around here do the same. I'll give 'em credit for making their cars nice and shiny. They definitely are eye-catching when it's sunny out, but they use some terribly guady rims and trim accents.

I won't buy anything that they won't show me on the actual car they are selling it for.

I bought my mom a set for her PT Cruiser a couple years back, and they look like a 12 lb sack of smashed a**holes.

They got seriously sundamaged after a year, and we can't get them off without damaging the black tape on the pillars underneath. My advice? Skip them. Or....if someone you hate drives a car with similar pillars, order them, stick them on THEIR car (I recommend at night, so you can get them crooked), and THEN see what happens on THEIR car before you make a decision for your own.

Guinea pigs are great, unwilling volunteers are even better.

HAHAHAHAHA!! I love your idea! I have a few people in mind, but if they own guns I might not live to see the effect of the pillars, LOL!
