Yeah what are those little rubber things? Mine got twisted and caught in the window.niennumb1 wrote:The thing I notice on my car is there's a rubber roundish lip that pokes out along the frontal part of the driver and passenger side windows. i wonder if it's required to cut those off before installing a pillar kit like this.
I don't entirely agree. For example, my Mini has a standard blacked out pillar treatment and it really helps delineate the body line below the windows which is chrome. It is definitely the best look for the car. I've also seen brushed stainless that looked very good and had the same visual impact. If done "right", I think this could be a good look for the Versa. Although, the consensus so far is that these are not done right.bobloblaw wrote:I've gotta think that chrome window trim is going to look tacky no matter what, but cheap stuff like that is going to be twice as bad. A rule I've followed with most cars is to stay away from stuff you can't find anywhere but Ebay. It's usually total garbage (judging by the feedback we've seen on the altezza lights, the billet grill, and some of the other chrome trim pieces.)
HAHAHAHAHA!! I love your idea! I have a few people in mind, but if they own guns I might not live to see the effect of the pillars, LOL!raptor79 wrote:I bought my mom a set for her PT Cruiser a couple years back, and they look like a 12 lb sack of smashed a**holes.
They got seriously sundamaged after a year, and we can't get them off without damaging the black tape on the pillars underneath. My advice? Skip them. Or....if someone you hate drives a car with similar pillars, order them, stick them on THEIR car (I recommend at night, so you can get them crooked), and THEN see what happens on THEIR car before you make a decision for your own.
Guinea pigs are great, unwilling volunteers are even better.
