Hi,

I"m looking at a set for Forgestar F14, but i want to make sure the offsets are correct before i purchase them. From reading all the threads i think the rear will be fine, but i'm not sure about the front (i think most guys run +30 with 8.5" front). I plan to put 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 tires on them. my car is on stock suspension right now, but should be lowered on either H tech or D2 soon...

Forgestar F14
5x114.3
20x8.5 +38 offset semi concave
20x10.5 +46 offset deep concave

thanks

Both are high and yes, especially the front... Ask for +30 front +42 rear!!
But rear at 10.5" +46 may be fine...

You could go as low as a +18 up front and still fit 245's. For the rear with 285 I think +46 is good.

10.5" wide rear wheel will stick out (unless you have air), need pull or camber with 285/30

Here's an M without air running 10.5 +45 and a 285 it might peek out a little bit but nothing to worry about. post4939184.html?sid=ade46d599546b9a295 ... 8#p4939184

This is from the link you posted:

Thanks guys. No spacers needed.

Front 20 X 9.0 +38mm (sticks in~6mm

Rear 20 X 10.5 +45mm (sticks out~4mm)

his words "they stick out"

Now before I got my new wheels I tested a few 10.5" wheel with H-Tech springs, the wheels stuck out. you will need camber or small pull to make them work.

Just to clear things up, if you don't want the rear wheel to stick out lets just say with H-Tech springs with no pull or any camber 42mm on 10" wide is dead even with the fender lip.

I had my 38mm milled down to 42mm to make them even with the fender lip. You can ask all the guys at the Liberty State Park meet which I pointed this out to most of them.

The Vossen 10.5 will stick out just about 5mm or a hair more from the fender lip. You can't mill 5mm of a Vossen wheel, I already tried that. :werd:

a 10.5" wheel would need to be 50mm to be even with the fender lip unless you use camber or a small pull (this still needs to be tested).

dang. i'm freaking out, just thinking about how my setup is gonna look.

20x9 +28
20x10 +32

Asking someone that knows his shyt will make all the difference when selecting offsets. I put my trust in the sales rep and feel pretty good about the specs that he laid out. But i can't lie, I won't feel at ease until tires are mounted and the car is squating over these wheels. .

Yeah everyone has a different opinion of what is poking out, sticking out, flush, etc. I was showing OP a link with the specs he's asking about and that nothing was needed for it to work; no pull or camber. If someone wants to sit like you are a 10.5 +48 is the exact same as a 10+42 using the offset calculator.

are you doing body work or using a lot of camber?

because I'm no expert but I can tell you that 20x10 with 32 offset nothing being done to the car will stick out.

Well here is my opinion:

Tuck - wheel lip is 2-3mm or more before fender lip (tire or wheel will not hit fender lip at all)

Flush - wheel lip is even with fender lip (tire or wheel should not hit fender lip)

poke- wheel lip is 2-3mm passed fender lip (wheel lip may hit fender lip)

sticking out- wheel lip is 5mm or more passed fender lip (tire may hit fender lip)

IMO you should not be looking for wheels that stick out pass the fender unless you have some kind of plan to make the fender lip come out to the wheel lip, pull, camber, body work, air system or just a really low drop will be needed.

If your car is not dropped and your wheels are sticking out I'm sorry to say that it won't look good. Having a gap and wheels sticking out is not the way to go.

I'm not here to bash anyone, if I don't like it I move on to the next thread (which I do alot). If your in front of me bing in a meet, BBQ or even passing by my house I'll tell it to your face. I don't want to give false opinions, I don't like I'll let you know.

for those that don't want to go crazy and not have to do anything to the car your best bet is tuck or flush.

i was running same specs with 10.5 and it stuck out a tad on stock height, dumped it on 285 and rubbed a tad when i ran with 3 people in the back, so i put 245 and no rubbing at all

If you really like that set of wheel you might want to ask if the rear wheels can be milled 4 or 5mm. this would make it flush and if you do have a slight rub it can be adjusted with a little camber.

you may also want to install a 5mm spacer for the front wheels which would make it come closer to the front lip without doing anything to the car.

Good luck with the wheels you pick.

here's an M with H techs and has a 20x9+40 with a 10.5+45r he is running a 275 though. If you're set on these wheels, you can get them made in any offset you want. Also element wheels .com sells them in a +48 if you wanted that spec.

She's dropped on Tein H Techs, rolling on Forgestar F14 20x9 offset 40 front and 20x10.5 offset 45 rear.

nah.. no body work or anything. For the immediate setup, i'll be on Tein S springs. I may decide to switch over to coils later though.

I'm hoping we nailed down the specs on these wheels. The Rears will be O Disk +32 while the front will be R Disk +28. However, I did build this setup with fitments for both the M35/45 and the M37/56 in mind. Still pondering the thought of moving into the newer chassis M.

Lol, whadayamean..... I want my key strokes back. I was told that you were a resident expert on this stuff. :lolling:

I linked up with the guys at RavSpec for the purchase. Based on what i've read, these guys are pretty knowledgeable on custom fitments.
