Thought I did a pretty good job negotiating a price with my local Connecticut Infiniti dealer. Got him down to $680 a month with $1700 total out of pocket down payment for 24 month lease, 12,000 miles a year. Its a black on black M35x with tech package, journey package, and aero kit. Is that a good price??

Thanks for all your input.

Custom,

I didnt lease myself...but from the many leasing threads I have read, that does sound like a good deal.

All those tech goodies...get ready to have a blast!

At the end of April 2006, I leased a 2006 M45 Sport, with journey, tech, XM radio, and factory aerodynamic package (Twilight Blue/Stone) from a Southern California Infiniti dealer for 24 months, 12,000 miles a year. Monthly lease was for $750.00 (this amount includes the 8.25% tax we pay in Los Angeles county). I put absolutely nothing down...so in essence, the dealer also paid the first month's lease cost, as well as tax and license. I now have 23 months remaining, at $750.00 per month. I negotiated long and hard for that deal, speaking to many different dealerships...and I suspect the fact that we were at the end of the month helped a great deal...as well as the fact that the 2007 model should be out in a few months...good luck to you!

WOW - you got a hell of a deal :-)

I leased an M45 Sport, Aero, Tech, Journey for 39 mos - $1500 down and $724 monthly. I thought I drove a hard bargain until I saw your message!

i think they can do better with your current quote. try to negotiate or call around other dealers and them beat the price.

Thanks....generally, I try to buy cars toward the end of the month, and won't even consider making a deal until 2 or 3 dealerships tell me that there is no way they can beat or match my best deal. Also, remember that you want to negotiate up from the invoice price, not down from the sticker price. In Southern California, I found one dealer at $1,000 over invoice, several at $500 over invoice, one at $200 over invoice...and eventually somehow ended up at $40 under invoice. Actual dealer profit is hard to calculate...there may incentives for selling a certain number of cars in a given month, a certain type of car, etc. I would think that this is a great time to negotiate on the 2006 M's, because the 2007 should be delivered in July, and dealers are probably interested in clearing their inventory. I would not recommend working through car brokers either...their services will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 to $25 per month on a lease....if not more, and I would bet you can do better yourself...just keep pushing, and don't "fall in love" with a certain car....the better you are at walking away from a "deal", the better your final deal will be!

i just leased a 06' black/black M35 sport w/ Journey, Tech and Aero for 0 down, $750 a month for 36 months w/ 12k a year. The dealership also paid off the last 4 payments on my Audi which came out to a little over 2k and took a little off the car price too.

I think the only way to compare leases and determine if you are getting a "fair" or "good" deal is to look at these three primary items:

selling pricemoney factor (interest rate)residual

The cap cost reduction is totally up to you. Personally, if I'm getting a good money factor, then I'm going to put down as little as possible. So don't look at that, or the payment, when comparing leases.

<rant> And in my area (Southeast) the ^%!(*&^%$# dealers all put a "doc fee" of anywhere from $295-$495 on their cars, the greedy little mofos. </rant>

I think Infiniti is still running lease specials, so if you have good credit, you should be able to get a good rate.

When I bought mine in April 2006, I got a money factor that was equivalent to a 2.1% interest rate, a 59% residual (24 mos, 12K miles) and I negotiated the car down to around $1500 over invoice. I suppose I could have done better, but my local dealer doesn't move a lot of cars, and the next closest dealer wouldn't answer my question properly when I asked for a quote, so I had little choice.
