my old headlights sucked, they were yellow and the lighting sucked (not more than others, it just annoys me more, i think) so i got german glass ones from courtesy parts. well, i know the european lighting standards are different so i was expecting a different look but i was suprised by what i got. check these pics out.

both sides

driver's side light alone. notice the cutoff, how it is flat and then slopes up to the right.

passenger side alone. it's supposed to have the same pattern, sloping up to the right to illuminate the signs on the side of the road. but it goes up to the left, like an english or japanese light should.

and the brights just for kicks.

i called courtesy about it and they gave me some c*** and bull story about parts not made for the car (they're freakin OEM, they are for the car). it looks like i have a driver's side german headlight and an english passenger side headlight.

maybe they are just out of adjustment, or maybe the guys at courtesy are idiots. any ideas?

The people at courtesy have been known to make mistakes, but they are generally good people. I would pull the part numbers off the lights first before jumping to any conclusions, they will have different numbers in different countries so you cant go wrong there...

As far as I can tell from the pattern though, you just have center position lights. They look like mirror images of each other to me.

what do i do with the part numbers once i find them, the local nissan dealership can't check them.

they are a mirror image, as far as i can tell. are center position lights a real option or something, like for a car that sees mostly city driving?

Well, what I mean is they look fine and just need a little adjustment IMO.

I think that a professional alignment will prove one way or the other for sure. I know thay have to have one of those machines at a gas station near you and the labor shouldnt be more than $60 for it...

I have JDM silvia projectors, and the leftward drift of my lights is VERY noticable. Yours just dont seem the same at all to me.

i think they are ok . since the left headlight should be aiming a little bit more towards the right because of the on coming traffic. your right one is not all that bad , i see it is aiming more forward than the left. even if it is the english or japanese one the angle is not that much to give you trouble

**** dude, driving my s13 is like driving down the highway holding a flashlight out the window. align it and you will be golden. the projection may not be perfect, but they are bright.

that's what my old lights were like too. when i hit the brights the first time the world dimmed around me like on national lampoons xmas vacation.

i'll play around with them some more and see how it turns out.

it's not rocket science.

if you want hids, the clear covers are probably better, i forget who makes them. they are completely clear and a little cheaper, no need to pay for new stuff if you are going to replace everything again.

hmm kinda old thread here but from what I know of using german style headlights on my VW's the cutoffs both slope up the right. I think it's very strange how the pass side one slopes up to the left
