As far as I know The Infiniti Q45 1990-1996+ used a disk\drum setup in the back.

I need to replace the shoes inside the drums.

My shoes are gone.

What's up the Q45's ebrake coming on my itself? Is it a safety feature or is it a malfunction?

I need to replace them

I have not found the person (Cindy or Me)that drove to town with the E-Brake on. and I dont really care.I do need to replace them soon.

I smoked a pair in my 93 Q45 also. Infiniti replaced the hole set in the rear Shoe's and Pad's for 168.00

So I ask : "Is the set of Rear Drum\E-Brake's-- in the Q45 OEM only?"

Are you asking if replacement brake shoes are only available from Nissan? I really don't know, because I've never had to replace them. As far as them coming on by themselves - how do you know they're coming on? If your dash brake lamp is coming on that indicator also serves as the warning light when your master cylinder is low. They should definately not be on unless the e-brake pedal is depressed.

I know some time's I will jump in and out of my Q and when I come back I need to release the E-brake

I don't ever set it on purpose.

But my 1993 Base Q45 did the same thing.

Are these the only two Q45's out there that have this issue?

I have seen it on both the 93 and 94 for 4 years.and thought it was an Infinti thing.

I guess I need to tear into the system deeper then I thought.

The emergency (really parking, since it cannot be modulated) brake is mechanical only and will not set itself.

Are you sure you did not have one of those Audi's with the automatic acceleration problem?

I have had my Q45t brake not release completely, and the light would come on about a mile down the road.

The brake wasn't dragging, I think the lever is not releasing completley, wheel I pull the release.

I have noticed that the ebrake does not work as well in the Q45t, ans it does in the Q45.

I think I need to adjust it. I will be taking the rear drums off, soon and check them out then.

I think you should call Joe @ EverythingInfininti.com He will give you a great price on teh new pads.

I don't think I've ever used mine.

Wonder what that assembly weighs?

In all honesty, i dont use mine much either... Since my shift lock doesnt work, sometimes i use it so i can leave it in neutral and dont have to press the little button down.....
