Are the OEM plugs NGK double platinum?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I'm wondering if the OEM plugs are NGK platinum.

I want to smooth out the idle a bit and improve fuel economy. I dont know what normal idling feels like for the G20, but it seems rough compared to the Q, though it doesnt do any stalling, hiccuping, or anything too weird. It drives smoothly without issues but it seems like there could be more smoothness.

At 128k, should the spark plug wires be replaced? What brands can I get away with or do I have to go OEM?

You can run platinums, but they are like $10 ea. Most just run the Copper BKR6Es for na and 7's if turbo. Have you checked the maf ground. It plays a large roll on the idle and gas mileage. Normally the oem plug wires are the best, but don't necessarily need replacing after 128k miles. I would also recommend a rotor cap/button change as well. Another problem could be the o2 sensor. When was it last replaced?

You can run coppers but the manual recommends the platinum and I would say that between the forums the majority consensus is that platinum work best for the sr20.

You could also reground your MAF if you have an unstable idle. I just did it the other day and seemed to help a lot.

I would REALLY recomend PLATINUMS, and on top of that if it gots 128k miles (or so) that you state it has, I would ALSO STRONGLY advise you to changer the wires (ALL OF THEM), and the Cap and Rotor (if it has one). That should HELP your idle out.
