i cant seam to find the answer on here, lots of head stuff, no real block / crank stuff

i pulled the ka24e from the car and only oneperson is interested in it, if he doesnt buy it im junking it

hes going to be building whatever block he gets for a turbo project ...but isnt sure if the basic stuff is the same

its out of a 89 pignose, would be going into a late model s13 that came DE originaly (donno what year tho exactly)

and yes i know the de heads can be swapped onto the e and all that jaz, but thats not what im asking here

same crank ?same block ? (maybe plus or minus a few holes im sure)same head gasket surface?same rods? same oil pan ? ect ect

What I have learned:The KAE crank has a longer snout than the KADE. It runs the timing gear, oil slinger, oil pump drive gear, and finally the crank pulley. The DE crank is a full inch or so shorter.

The DE crank in a 240 is similar to the KAE crank in the Stanza. Also a SOHC 12v. Because of the positioning of the power steering pump, it makes the whole nose of the engine more compact. And space is crucial in a front driver.Because of the oil pump drive gear, they are not interchangeable. The fsm should have a decent illustration to clarify. Hope this helps.
