Is the USDM coupe spoiler with the 3rd brake light the same part as the vert spoiler?

Well, I either need a black one or a ridiculously cheap other color one. I found a coupe one for a good price, but it's not black. Looks like it's the same as a vert spoiler,

Are you trying to remove yours and install another one? If so, you should be careful when you remove it. Heard many horror stories about leaving dents cuz it wouldn't come out easy.

That's the plan. I want to keep my stock one to revert to in case I don't like the look of the contrasting black one.

I thought the spoiler just unbolted and slid off of the mounts? Guess it sticks pretty well or something?

Thanks for checking on the part #. You always come through. Do you have a website or microfiche catalog that you look up the part #s on?

if i remember right its the two obvious screws and then it pops off with poppers similar to the ones in a door panel just way more intense. When i took mine off i broke one of the poppers so thats the only thing i would worry about. mines white.. i would sell it for dirt cheap but i dont think shipping would be worth it unless it was a lot cheaper then the one you can get right now.

Here's a good idea fo what it would look like.

Previous owner removed tha paint from the spolier as it started to come off on it's own.

^ Ehh i'm not feeling it. I originally thought it would look good but after seeing those pics, I think it looks odd. Just my opinion.

Might be better if it wasn't a flat/matte finish??

I'm not sure I'll even have a spoiler when all is said and done.

Still going for your Red/Black theme Mike?

^ Yea, black spoiler doesn't look too hot...maybe someone can photoshop a black spoiler AND trunk, maybe that'd look better?

Thanks Rex for those pics. I think it might look good if it were a proper black and were a part of a "theme" rather than on a stock car. Regardless, I have a coupe spoiler on the way and am keeping the stock red one in case it doesn't look so great. Hopefully I don't screw to many things up switching out the spoilers.

Loki, there is a drug dealer who comes around here who has a Benz vert that is black on the sides and red across the hood and trunk. It looks frickin' hot. One day he, I, and my neighbor with a mint red Z31 300ZX were all parked in a line. I should have taken a pic.

the casualness with which you mention your local neighborhood pusher is great!

Totally agree. We need to see it with Xenon lip, mud flaps and such on your car. One thing though, it'd look better on your car if stock spoiler is 10mm-20mm higher.

You should call the drug dealer and ask him to drop by, so you can take some pics.

I have this print out that has most s13 parts listed. I lost the PDF, so I only have a hard copy of it. It must be old though since price is way off. But still it's a good reference.

Part of life in DC, I guess. You get used to it. I was actually talking about 240s with a local drug user a couple of weeks ago. He used to have a hatch.

When I get the coupe spoiler, I'll see if there is an easy way to do this.

I dunno, I think the shape of a car needs a grille to pull off that kind of two-tone look.

Would be nice if you could scan it and post it for all of us. I would really be interested in a copy. Sorry for the thread jack.

K well, i did a quikie for you. Black trunk/spoiler, slightly smoked/tinted tails, black hood and A pillars.

I had to blur it a little, cause otherwise it looked really choppy.

Anyways, i dont think its too bad, as far as how it would look on the car.

EDIT: I think it would look really good if you only painted the pillars black, like on a hatch.

This is a photo edit of what it might look like:

I am not painting my car half black, but feel free to do it to your own vert.
