Are the 370 cc injectors ok to use on the ka24de without tuning the computer?

The stock injectors are 270 cc. I realize there is no advantage to 370 cc without tuning but are there disadvantages. I bought the 370 cc because that was all that was offered at the time. I do have a rich idle problem and am wondering if the the ecu is able to fully adapt to the higher outflow. thanks.

the year i did smog after putting the 370's in the mechanic had a heck of time getting me to pass. He replaced my ecu saying it was bad. I subsequently discovered it was fine. I did pass with reasonable numbers though. The next year I was rich at idle again and passed after putting in a new aiv. this year, i just bearly past with very high hydrocarbons at idle. This little bit of stupidity might have cost me $2000 in mechanic labour and parts. not to mention the cost of buying new injectors again.

If you're going to change injector sizes, you will need to tune your ecu to accommodate for it.

But, at least you know.We live and learn.

Never use bigger injectors without a means to control them. Right now your engine is being flooded with more fuel then it's supposed to have the entire time its on. This washes the oil off the cylinder walls, lets fuel pass the piston rings and get into the oil. This destroys the oil and usually ends up causing internal bearing failure.

So take the 370's out before you need a new motor.
