What year is the W11?

I'm having a tough time finding out if there are any differences... Let me call in the SR experts.

it is a 1998 GT4 SR20DET motor and the crank i have is
from a 1996 S14 SR20DET . they both have the same
stroke length at 86.00 mm and both pistons look identical
and have the same cylinder diameter is 86.00 mm .
gona go pull the motor out of the W11 at work on friday :naughty:
, there the only SR20DET that run 9psi factory

cheers

I'd say wing it! I can't find anything that indicates they're different.

I'd love to have a W11 GT4 in the US!

should be fun , at this stage im thinking of
using the W11 SR20DET block with a SR20VE
head from a P11 primera or a N15 SR16VE as
there is a few of the VE heads at my work , :dblthumb:
then hopfully get my hands on a N15 VZR or a
P11 sedan some day soon and slap it in :woot:

after my SR20DET VCT A31 cefiro
and my VH41DE 96 Ks S14 silvia is
finished of couse :rotfl

The RWD JDM P/N cross references with the USDM FWD crankshaft, so I'll go on a limb and say that the W11 and RWD blocks should share the same crank.

will have them both in my hand tomorow
so will find out

also which cams will be better suited to
a DET block ?the SR16VE orSR20VE ?99%
sure its just the cams that are diffrent
in the VE heads and got one of each at
work

I would stick with the 2.0 VE cams if your going to run stock DET pistons. The SR16 cams are have more lift and some say they hit the pistons. But I had a friend who ran the SR16 cams on DET pistons and never smacked them. Could have been those people that had piston to valve contact reved the motor too high on stock springs and floated the valves.
