Yello, again!

MY2014 Rogue, QR25DE, 207kmiles.
thinking/researching about taking head off and showing tender love and care to it stumbled upon this little writeup in FSM(Engine mechanical - cylinder head disassembly):

sooo... according to FSM seems like - if there is any distortion - replace the head? do not resurface? or am I reading it wrong?

They aren't supposed to be, but if the distortion is only a couple thousandths then you can probably get away with milling it. If it's at or near the 0.004" limit then you're probably playing with fire. Cast aluminum isn't very plastic, that much distortion usually means there are internal flaws or fractures.

I don't know of anything for the QR engines. Like I said in one of your other threads, nobody I know about tries to f#ck with those heads in-shop. Late model Nissan heads don't even have bearings, they're all treated surfaces that you toss the head if they wear out. The bottom line is, they're meant to be disposable and you're trying to do stuff nobody ever does.

@VStar650CL, you won't believe what happened yesterday.
