are overlays legal?

are the light overlays legal? is there a certain percentage of tint allowed on them? wanted to know before i got any

Here in NY you cant do things like that, but by the same token, you cant put on half of the exhausts, HIDs, Tints or anything else on your car. But i see pink headlights with led washer fluid heads and neon licence plates on car with blue tinted windows all the time.

I think its just going to be a local thing. Go to a local meet (just drive by if you like, doesnt have to be nissan) just to see what they are doing if you need a good example.

Also please be warned that although there is a DIY for taillight tinting, thats an excellent writeup, it is a pretty difficult task if you havent done that type of work before. A local shop may be a better bet.

It all depends on where you live. Hear in the sunny state of Cali they are legal as long as the lights can be seen from 1000 ft away. Just check with your local DMV.
