I have an 2009 M35x with heated and cooled seats. Is there a heating element in the seat or is it just warm air from the climate control system?Thank you in advance.

Heating element in the seats.

The cooling function, however, is diverted from the normal A/C.

Welcome aboard, and be sure to post up pics of the new M when you get a chance!

im actually curious about this too; i would assume it works the same way as the a/c passing through the seats.

I thought the element was under the seat; a peltier heater/cooler arrangement rather than an embedded heating element that heated up?

the TEC unit itself is what heats up so it is the heating element. A TEC consists of a hot plate and cool plate. Electricity makes one side of the unit become cold, and the other side to become hot. I always hear about these devices being used in computer cooling systems, mostly with water cooling.
