I did search for this topic, but could not find an answer.I know that if one turbo charges a ka24, you need a piggy backecu, or a retuned ecu. If I change the MAF with a Z32 MAF, in generaldo I have to retune the ECU to accomadate for this?

As far as i know, yes you do. I have an e-manage and it has seperate programs to run with seperate MAFs. the stock one is NS-HW7 (nissan hot-wire 7), but i dont know what any of the other ones are for. although ive never heard of this before, it seems to me that if you change your maf, youd also have to change your injectors (if its from a different motor with different injectors), like say if you were to run a sr20 maf, youd have to have the 370cc injectors. if this theory is true tho, you wouldnt be able to use a 300zx mass airflow without some sort of ecu tuner because they are 6 cyls and youd end up running too rich... this sounded a lot better in my head, can anyone back me up on this?

Sounds right to me. Most MAFs run at 5.00 volts reference. They are designed for your car's engine, such that when you hit redline, the "sensed" voltage going back to the ECU is around 4.5 V. It can't be higher than the reference voltage, but for best resolution, it should be close to 5. The amount of air drawn in at redline varies from engine to engine, depending on displacement and RPMs, plus forced induction MAFs must have an even wider range than NA MAFs.You can swap the MAF, but I agree you'll need to mod/swap the ECU and get larger injectors for it to run well. A fully programmable ECU is the way to go if you want to change one thing at a time, but it is a lot of work. You'll be plugging in hundreds of numbers into the timing and injector tables. But if you get it right, it'll run great.
