I have a 2020 Murano SV that came with 18” wheels as standard equipment (235/65r18). Optional factory wheels are available in 235/55/r20. I’ll be needing new tires next Spring and am wondering if there is an advantage to go with the bigger 20” wheels. I’ve got all summer to look for deals such as ‘take offs’ and install them when my snow tires come off.

The rolling diameter is only a hair different (30.03 vs 30.18), so your speedo won't notice much. There's really no advantage besides cool factor. The '20's have less sidewall and will add unsprung weight, which are both disadvantageous factors for handling and may give you a harsher ride to boot. Radials work by keeping the tread stiff and flat while letting the sidewall flex, and less flex directly affects traction in the corners and provides less cushion and poorer conformity over rough surfaces. The only true advantage of a larger rim is extra brake ventilation.

Great info, thanks. Think I’ll just keep the original size tires.
