Are J30 uprights the same as 240sx?

I am swapping J30 diff,axles, and brakes onto a spare subframe. The spare has base model 240 stuff, 4 lug, s***ty brakes, etc. I want to take the entire diff/axle/hub assembly off the spare and swap on the J30 pieces.

The problem is this, one of the J30 uprights (Nissan calls it a rear axle housing) was broken during the crash that ended the life of the 240 I got this from, so I need a new one. I'd rather use one of the spare 240 uprights/hubs I have laying around, but I'll get a junkyard J30 if I need to.

So, is the J30 and 240 upright the same piece? I tried to find model numbers for both but failed. Here is the diagram for the 240, the piece I'm talking about is PN#43052 http://www.courtesyparts.com/2....html

I thought they were called knuckles w/e. but I believe so, heard that they are also aluminum (that or the 300zx knuckles were)

Yeah they're OEM parts and some are pricey but not all can be found in a junkyard. The last person I talked to there seemed to know a lot about Nissan/Infiniti parts and could probably compare the two side by side if they have the parts in stock.

there is an additional difference as well the lower mount for the struts are different also.

Wow, thanks. I learned something useful from that! Z32 and Q45 both use the same aluminum uprights. Awesome!

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going to try to get the uprights swapped out for 240sx ones.
