Are intercoolers directional? Im in the dark?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

So i was selling a 300zx intercooler to someone and they asked me if the intercooler was directional?I feel very uneductacted on this now, i had no idea that they where?

Could someone inform me?I thought it was hot side/cold side and the plumbing didnt matter which side when to whichOr was this person really talking out of their a**?

It doesnt matter which side is Hot or Cold.

there is no direction for the intercooler

It doesn't matter unless your using a same side intercooler. If your using a same side the top is the inlet and the bottom the outlet.

as in... top is hot pipe (turbo) and bottem is cold pipe (intake mani)?

Yeah, heat rises. So if you had it the other way around you would be reheating the air you just cooled.

I don't think it's going to really make a difference in a FMIC as far as "heat goes up" kinda stuff.
