Ive read a lot of stuff about the new GT-Rs not being what they said they were going to be, in terms of an actual sports car that you can drive hard... namely with the transmission..

I would expect nissan to make a good engine, they know turbocharging well, but these new fancy transmissions are kinda scary...

Has anyone put a decent amount of miles or heard of any troubles they may have? Granted, theyve only been out a year and its not a "daily driver", but i'd still like to hear about them. The concept of a super car that is something you could drive daily is attractive..

Wes, from what I have heard over here through a Nissan employee that is a friend of mine, is that they are working to remedy the transmission.

Their initial thought was that people weren't going to be beating the crap out of the car all the time (Well, duh! Why would you think that?).

But here in Japan, there doesn't seem to be as big an issue with their cars. Mostly because a lot of Japanese people who buy there cars have deep pockets anyway and won't question the $15,000 trans if it breaks. They see it as all part of owning the car.

Well the launch control leaving at 4,000 rpm was the real problem. They now have decrased the lauch RPM to 3,000 and this they say you can do all day long with no worry of the trans breaking.

I think with the car being AWD is was just a tremendous amount of stress on the transmission at 4,000 RPM and something had to give.
