I'd recommend just buying one from a reputal place, not eBay.

The only stuff I buy off Ebay are from manufacturers outlets and things like that. Unless it is a legit part from the manufacturer i personally wouldnt buy it

yea but even then, they might not honor the 30 day or whatever warranty they offer if its from eBay...

Some of the eBay turbo's are alright. My friend that owns a performance shop had a supplier give him one to use because he was skeptical. So far he's been running 20psi DD on it for about 6 months now w/o a problem. Now this does NOT mean they are all the same. I'd have to call him and find out where he got it, but he seems pretty impressed with it. It spools up super fast and makes really good power.

there is some really good "cheap" stuff out there on ebay, dont get me wrong. I just sleep better knowing i bought whatever from a garrett or hks outlet on there. Im not sure about te warranty manufacturer/ebay outlets have tho i would assume if you bought like an hks 2540 from their ebay store they'd honor the warranty same as if you bought it straight from them but i dont know either. Id read the fine print and compare it to the manufacturers warranty if its a name brand chra

i pulled this from the HKS website for reference:

Q: I purchased a genuine HKS product through an online auction, is it covered under the HKS warranty?

A: HKS warranty is administered through authorized HKS USA dealers only. Products purchased through online auctions must be returned to the seller and then through the Authorized HKS Dealer from which it was purchased in order to be considered for warranty.

i'm sure most other places would have the same warranty policies, since eBay is a breeding ground for skeptical parts and the companies need to cover their assets.
