I am looking for new front rotors and came across these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...4662. I asked the seller what brand they are and he said Beck/Arnley. Does anyone have any information on these and know if they are suitable rotors for a J30t.Thanks

Short of sending them to a lab and doing destructive testing you can't know ! We have used these in the past [trying to find something cheaper than oem].

Currently we use either oem or AutoSpeciality [makers of PowerStop or the BREMBO branded units.

Generally the quality [cost of steel/iron] is the factor in suitability.......watch out for Korean/Mexican, Malaysian iron the new Chinese quality varies.

Many low cost rotors are warped out of the box [due to ocean transport or just plain poor quality.

If it were me I would go oem or get something from NOPI [Brembo or Powerstop] at least 9 times out of 10 you don't have to true them before installtion.

We get lots of Quicky, Brakeo, Just Brakeo $99 special in constantly for a redo [plus they throw the factory shims away and this adds $40 per axle]. These very hard pads don't stop hot or cold but they last forever while destroying the rotors and creating unbelievable sounds!

They don't warranty the stopping distance just the pad life!

Always use factory pads unless you are redesigning the brake system for some specific purpose...........aftermarkets are all plain crap unless they cost more than the factory pads [retail price].....it is a tricky blend of rotor hardness vs pad softness to optimize braking [better than the factory did] usually impossible to consider all the different temperature parameters and come up with something better cold and hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and noise wise.

OEM is always a safe route. I've gotten away from $$$ slotted and cross-drilled rotors because of observed cracking after 2 vigorous track days. I've also seen those other asian rotors and they aren't pretty. When non-uniform corrosion has already begun in the shipping crate it says alot about the castings! I'm not sure if it's true for Infiniti or not but I've used Beck-Arnley for Acura swapouts for years. Both clutch kits and rotors were made in England and very well machined. B/A clutch discs were much better than Acura OEM with those funky rubber "springs". I'm up for front rotors on my 91Q45t soon and am curious about differences in price between OEM and aftermarket. If you price the various sources could you post the results?

These are the rotors I currently use in the rear of my Q with OEM pads. I haven't had a problem with them for the three months or so I had them. Sure it's always better to stick with OEM parts in which case I would have had these rotors not cost $24 a piece. For that price, it's a no brainer.

Where did you get them for that price?

Just as long as they are true, as meeting the oem mounted runout spec is hard enough with factory oem parts.
