none of those rods on ebay have rubber bushings like factory. are they designed for track use only? will they change ride quality at all on a daily driver

i have some for every day sriving.no dust boots either.they are Battle Version arms.they will make the ride more harsh. you are eliminating a rubber bushing and putting metal/metal instead. so you feel a lot more imperfections in the road

I think the increase in ride harshness is negligible, especially if you're running aftermarket (stiffer) suspension. What I did notice is a lot more steering precision and a better overall feel...you'll be fine.

how do you know if they are set to factory length? hold them up to the stock tension rods and if they are the same length, there you go. dont worry so much.

Hush. Yes, check the alignment, your caster will be off when you install them. Adjust them as needed to get your caster to spec. Don't eyeball it and think it's going to be fine...

Hush........ lol, I love it! I originally thought that I could eyeball mine as well until I got an alignment. I was way off. Like 8 1/2 positive on the driver and 6 something on the passenger. Our cars like 7 degrees positive caster.

I don't know if that's "way off" but I hate it when specs don't match!

sheesh guys, its pretty easy to match them up to the stock arms. what i did was get a bunch of washers and 2 long bolts and some nuts, and bolted the stock arm onto the aftermarket one. tightened down the adjuster bolts that way. caster is off like maybe a half degree max from stock. its a pretty good way to do it if you cant afford an alignment.

If you can't afford an alignment there is a problem

Just had mine aligned the other day after correcting my BV tension rods. Like an idiot I didn't bottom both ends out before installing, so I had to take them off and put them back on. Here was my caster results:

Left front - 6.28 degreesRight front - 7.42 degrees

Even though I lined up the rods with the holes, the sides don't necessarily match...as you can see they were over a degree off from one another. Now fixed. Moral of the story: get an alignment.

Energy Suspension, but some say they don't allow axial movement... which causes a binding and shear load of the tension rod, which in turn, cracks the lower control arm. Could it be the culprit? Never seen one in person, and I've seen a lot of modified s13's

I dig my SPL tension rods. I wouldn't risk it on the ebay arms. The steering precision will outweigh any negatives of ride quality.
